Recommend local activities with this simple tool

We know you work hard to offer your guests an unparalleled stay. This can often mean supplying guests with ideas for fun things to do in your area, like trails to hike, neighborhoods to explore, and great restaurants to visit.

Sharing insider knowledge of local activities and must-see spots can make a huge difference when it comes to increasing guest satisfaction. According to internal Airbnb data from July 2021, Hosts who recommend personalized activities to their guests show an increase in 5-star reviews.

To make it easier for you to recommend local activities, we’re launching Share Recommendations, a new inbox tool that helps you quickly share your digital guidebook and Airbnb Experiences recommendations directly in your message threads with guests. By offering guests personalized recommendations via our new tool, you can let your local expertise shine—and potentially snag better reviews.

The Share Recommendations tool can be found in your hosting inbox. While you might have previously copied and pasted your guidebook into message threads with guests, it’s now simpler than ever to send a customized mix of local recommendations:

1. Select the plus-sign icon on the bottom left of a message thread with your guests
2. Select Share recommendations
3. Select your guidebook and/or a selection of nearby Experiences

If you haven’t created a digital guidebook yet, we recommend setting one up—it’s a great opportunity to enhance your hospitality and help guests make lasting memories. Remember to include photos, and be sure to keep it up to date.

To get a better sense for what your guests are looking for, consider asking what brings them to town and what kinds of activities they enjoy before sharing recommendations. This way, you can customize your suggestions according to guest interests—and with this new tool, you can do it all in a few steps.
