Woodcutter's Lodge Suffolk
SUPERHOST
Entire residential home · 6 guests · 3 beds · 2 baths
Woodcutter's Lodge SuffolkWoodcutter’s Lodge is a stunning newly-built property nestled within its own plot on the edge of the Suffolk village of Holbrook. Welcoming up to 6 guests, it offers the perfect countryside retreat with beautiful contemporary interiors. Holbrook is situated between the River Orwell and the River Stour and is a stone’s throw from 400 acre Alton Water. The property has a light and luxurious open-plan living and dining area, fully equipped with home-from-home comforts and amenities. Spacious and modern with a large vaulted ceiling, it offers the ideal setting for enjoying a relaxing countryside getaway. The two bedrooms with soft-tone decor have sumptuous king-size beds, one with its own en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom, which can be either a super-king or two twins, is next to a large bathroom complete with a shower and bath. A comfortable double sofa bed accommodates two further guests in the living area. The large open-plan living and dining area opens out onto a south-facing patio, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee and then later, after a day of exploring, having a relaxing evening drink. A large private drive provides off-road parking for multiple vehicles and also has an electric charging point. Things To Do: Woodcutter’s Lodge is a stone’s throw away from Alton Water, which ranges across nature trails, cycling routes (bike hire available), fishing spots, dinghy sailing and paddle boarding. Footpaths from the property will take you to the east side of Alton Water within 15 minutes. Pack a picnic and spend the day relaxing on the water’s edge, taking in the beautiful scenery or for the more enthusiastic, you can walk the circular 10-kilometre route in its entirety. The River Orwell and River Stour are in close proximity. Orwell Country Park is the perfect place to park up and enjoy a scenic walk along the Suffolk shoreline. Pin Mill on the River Orwell lies within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you fancy a visit to the beach, you can drive to Aldeburgh in 50 minutes and both Walberswick and Southwold Pier Beach is an hour. We highly recommend Aldeburgh’s fish and chips! Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park is a nice adventure for children, which has farm animals, a vegetable and flower garden and a gift and craft shop. There are three National Trust properties: Ickworth, Flatford Mill in the vale of Dedham and Sutton Hoo. The film The Dig is based on the excavation of the Anglo-Saxon ship burial at this site near Woodbridge. The local Co-op, butcher’s shop and pub are a short walk away for supplies. The Suffolk Foodhall and The Freston Boot pub and restaurant are a few minutes’ drive if you fancy a bite to eat. The Food Hall is also a great place to browse the finest Suffolk produce from local suppliers. The property has a pretty outlook and open fields and woodland are just around the corner. It’s more than likely you will spot a muntjac or two and possibly a herd of deer! Babysitting possible. Please ask for details.
