Selecting the best photos of your space
Photographs help guests picture themselves in your place and can invite them to explore more. You want to add photos that make a great first impression by showing off the best things about your space.
You only need five photos to get started, but you can provide more if you’d like. Pictures you’ve taken with your smartphone can work, as long as they’re clear and well-lit.
When adding photos, try these tips:
- Choose shots that capture your space’s personality. This is your chance to really “wow” guests. Aim for beautiful images that flaunt your place’s top attributes.
- Make sure your best photos work as squares, with the subject in the center of the frame. We’ll automatically crop them to fit in Airbnb’s search results and on your listing page.
- Focus on one aspect of your place per photo. For example, you could include shots of the sleeping area (giving a sense of the room’s size), the layout of your space (showing how the kitchen flows into the sunken den), a special feature (showcasing a clawfoot tub or a kids’ playroom), and the outdoor area (a patio, picnic area, or surrounding landscape).
- Avoid using photos you’ve altered dramatically. The goal is to present your space as authentically as possible.
Our smart tool automatically arranges the photos you add based on their quality and room type. You can change the order yourself by tapping or clicking on a photo and dragging it to a different position, though we recommend keeping the order our tool suggests for best results.
After you publish, you can change your images or add more—and even organize your photo gallery as a room-by-room tour.
