More Hobbit than Batman (no parking), this little cave house is built into the limestone cliff above the beautiful Provençal village of Cotignac. One of the most enchanting properties in the area, it has a garden with roses, palms, cacti and oleander. Panoramic view of the village. Parking nearby but the property has no vehicle access, only steep narrow path. This is the owner’s painting studio - easel available. Eagle owls nest above - no late parties/loud music. My place is very distinctive because it has an unparalleled view of the river that can be accessed with a ladder , an ideal place to enjoy the cool in the summer by taking a bath or playing with children. The interior of the house is very well kept and there are still traces of the past , in fact it was used in the past centuries to grind the olives of the country's farmers to produce the precious Ligurian olive oil. Once called Arbec, our small stone shepherd's hut served as a kitchen and dining room. It was there that the milk was transformed into cheese and bush, where the family gathered for the evening vigil with the neighbors ,and where social life was tied up.Tools,seeds, harvests ,were also stored in the arbec. The stones of this small building are full of history and the thickness of its walls offers a sense of protection, peace, conducive to rest.
