The salmon river Orkla is only 5 km away and there are fishing opportunities in many fresh waters. Nearest shop and gas station is at Vormstad, 5 km away. It is 15 km to the town of Orkanger where there are several shopping centers, large swimming facilities (Orklandbadet) and a large climbing hall. Sights such as Bårdshaug Manor and the Thamspavilion are worth a visit.
