A home different from the rest - eclectic decor from around the world. Relax & unwind in this unique luxury home. Breathtaking 180 degree views up the coast & out to sea. With large glass doors for seamless indoor-outdoor living, chef's kitchen, multi light-filled living spaces & solar heated pool. Bath sheets, pure linen or cotton sheets. Three of Sydney's best beaches 5 mins away and great restaurants (fine dining or casual). Bush walking, swimming, sailing, surfing & golf. NO PARTIES/FUNCTIONS & only REGISTERED GUESTS in our home. Balquisse, sits on a cliff between Avalon and Bilgola Beaches and is close to Sydney's best beaches (Newport, Bilgola,Avalon, Whale and Palm Beach). It is also within easy reach of shops, cafes, fishing, sailing, surfing & bushwalking. You’ll love the stunning 180 degree views out to the ocean, across to the still waters of Pittwater and a vista that stretches hundreds of kilometres up the north coast. It also has a plunge pool, chef's kitchen and is blissfully quiet. Our home, which is blessed with sun and light all year, is furnished eclectically with much loved items collected over the years, together with cherished items from our travels. There are a number of seating areas (lounge, family room, indoor courtyard, decks, garden and by the plunge pool) for peace and privacy. The chef's kitchen is equipped with everything the discerning chef might need, including European appliances. You will also have the use of our linen tableware, beautiful crystal, dinner and silverware. We have filtered water on tap, instantaneous boiling water, a Nespresso coffee machine, gas fireplace and gas heating for those chilly winter months. We also have air conditioning in the living areas and the main bedroom. We also supply free fast, unlimited Internet, while on our 'smart' TV you will have access to Netflix. There is also a Bluetooth sound system and hundreds of books at your disposal. Set above the natural bush of Angophora Reserve you can watch the native birdlife in the mornings and afternoons: cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets, king parrots, hawks and many other birds will glide past or sail high above. In the afternoons you will be visited by our local cockatoo friends. You might also meet our shy baby bush turkey. The cliff we live on is whisper quiet - this is one of its many beauties - and we would ask that you respect the quiet by not having parties or playing loud music that would disturb our neighbours. Please understand that the house does not suit small children who would not be safe with an open staircase, garden pond and open balcony over a cliff. You will have access to three bedrooms, lounge, dining, kitchen, family room, study, three bathrooms, laundry, internal courtyard, garden and plunge pool. We supply fluffy white towels, an excellent choice of hotel quality pillows, crisp white sheets, comfortable beds, environmentally friendly shampoo and body wash without Parabens and SLS and laundry and cleaning products. You will have the use of our general kitchen products - various coffees, about 40 different types of tea and the usual salt, pepper, olive oil, vinegars, cooking oils, flours, sugars, sauces etc. We ask that you do not have people staying in excess of the number you booked. If you are thinking of having more people to stay please contact us immediately. We will greet you and introduce you to the house. You will also be able to contact us by email and phone if you have any questions. We also have a local contact person who can help with any issues that may arise if we are away. The area is leafy, quiet, and safe with a bush walking track directly below the escarpment the house sits on. Cafe's and local shops are within walking distance, while Avalon and Newport villages and beaches are a few minutes away. You'll love the feeling of being far from the hustle and bustle of city life while only minutes away from the finer things in life: beaches, sailing, bush walking and some of the best cafes and restaurants in Sydney. We can give you tips for casual or fine dining. We are close to the bus route to the city and to Manly, although we strongly recommend a car. You can walk down to Avalon Beach, Bilgola Beach (voted the most romantic beach in Australia) and Newport Beach and swim in the surf, or in one of our iconic ocean pools. The villages, with their shops, cafes, cinema and restaurants, are also within easy walking distance, however, you have to walk uphill to get home. It's a beautiful walk, but only you can decide how much exercise you want. We welcome you to our home and hope that it gives you the peace it has always offered us. The three most important issues for us are: 1. you look after our home as you would want yours looked after 2. respect the quiet of the ridge and do not disturb our neighbours 3. If you are staying five days or more we ask that you water the plants in the house and the courtyard. It is important to us that you are willing to this. It is not a difficult task, but they are plants and they do need water to survive. Of course, the garden looks after itself. Hope you understand.
