Old stone house

The old stone house is located at the former village fountain of the picturesque mountain village of Ville San Sebastiano in the hills of the Marotal Valley. The small, typical Ligurian community consists predominantly of long-established families who have lived for generations from the olive trees of the surrounding terraced gardens. TraditionAll festivals are an integral part of the cultivated traditions and spontaneous hospitality tempts you to feel less like a tourist after a short time, but rather as a local. The nearby rural inn towns offer ample opportunity to enjoy delicious Ligurian cuisine with wine and grappa. Or you can buy regional and seasonal fruit and vegetables, pasta and meat in one of the surrounding markets and try out the newly discovered delicacies for yourself. Those who indulge in the urge to exercise after gluttony, the surrounding hiking and mountain biking trails offer the optimal conditions. You can then cool off either at idyllic bathing spots on the creek or on a beach on the Italian Rivierea, just a 20-minute drive away. If you miss the vibrant city life after a while, a day trip to Genoa, Nice or Sab Remo would be my recommendation. My advice, however, is: take some time and drive to the hinterland on one of the country roads. This way you can discover beautiful, dreamy mountain villages, on the Italian and French side of the border. I lovingly renovated the three-storey house myself during my architectural studies over several years with the help of friends and local craftsmen, placing great emphasis on the traditional Ligurian architecture. The house offers in the lower part a pleasantly cool bedroom with bathroom/ WC and small open, covered loggia. At the entrance level there is an open kitchen with wood-burning stove and adjoining toilet. On the top floor there is a loggia-like living area with an open fireplace, two round arches with a central pillar and a covered, open terrace. The living room with its large panoramic windows offers a unique view over the surrounding roofs and the hills of the Marotal Valley. A small garden with barbecue area on the outskirts belongs to the house and can be used.
