With expansive views over Gisborne City and the Bay but only minutes from cafes and ammenities you will love our little slice of urban paradise. Harnessing the many hours of sunshine we receive here on the East Coast the Studio is run on Solar Power and gas and heated by a Mini Meg fireplace. The studio is close (20 metres) to our family home but with private spaces and vast views it feels isolated.

Historic Places Trust in coastal Maori village

Te Poutapeta is a Historic Places Trust listed building. Up until the 1980s it served as the community Post Office. Our family run it as a B&B or Holiday House but do not live on site. Guests have the entire house at their disposable. We provide continental breakfast. The Post Office is a one minute walk to our long and expansive beach. You’ll love our Poutapeta for its history, spaciousness and comfort. It is relaxing and unspoilt. Nau mai, haramai!

Lovingly restored in 2020, the guest room is self contained and absorbs the morning sun. The facilities are all modern, with heat pump/air conditioning, acomodating 4 people with style, comfort and ease. One queen bed is in the lounge as a pull down/retractable and the second in a separate bedroom. Shower and toilet is an ensuite shared by all guests but accessed through the bedroom.
