Longview - charming country escape

Charming and cosy - an old house with character. This was built to be a hard working house; a large family farming the land around it, keeping poultry, sheep and cattle. It was also a house for resting after a long day of labour. It is no longer at the centre of a farm, and instead is a place to rest, reconnect, explore, dream, and eat. Perched at the edge of town with paddocks behind, it is a house for slowing down and enjoying the fresh air.

Elida Cottage on Hanson

This cosy cottage is in the small township of Corryong in NE Victoria. The Cottage was built by Ernest Paton in the 1940's. The Paton family is a well known grazing family in this district. The house has obviously undergone many changes. The house has been in my family for 50+ years. I grew up in this house and still call it home. I hope you love my home as much as I do. I've named the cottage after my parents, Elio & Aida, hence ELIDA.
