C'est La Vie
C’est La Vie is its own little oasis on the Trouya Pointe peninsula, where privacy, peace and tranquility are only interrupted by bird songs and crashing of waves. Landscaped gardens completely surround the property highlighted by yellow, red, pink and gold flowers. The main house and its adjoining cottage and apartment are truly unique and reveal both traditional Caribbean as well as Balinese influences. The full-service villa team will make you feel like you are staying at your own private boutique hotel! Start each day on the upper veranda where a lounge set and breakfast table give you a perfect vantage points for your eyes to wander from ornate curved eaves to carved hardwood railings to the endless green landscape. Saunter down to the swimming pool and dip your head under the waterfall. Dry off on a chaise longue before retiring to the nearby daybed. Refresh yourself under the outdoor shower then join your guests at the Banana Bar or fire up the barbecue. There are several living rooms where you can all gather. All about Saint Lucia

Luxury Retreats, an Expert in St Lucia Vacations

It’s no wonder the French and British fought over the island of St Lucia for 150 years. This Caribbean beauty blessed with sugar-sand beaches, lush green mountains and a year-round temperature hovering at 70 degrees ultimately became a British territory in 1814, so English is the official language. The island gained independence in 1979, and the people of St Lucia are proud of their heritage – a vibrant mix of British, French and African influences. Whether you want to lose yourself in exuberant nature, indulge your taste buds with a fusion of flavors or party like a local, this place has it all.

Get out and explore

St Lucia boasts some of the most breathtaking scenery of any of the Caribbean islands, and its volcanic mountains offer an array of experiences, from invigorating climbs to nature’s best beauty treatments. If you choose one of our Sugar Beach rentals you’ll be up close and personal with the majestic Piton hills. These landmark twin peaks are a Unesco World Heritage site, and a hike up the 2,619-foot Gros Piton is well worth the effort. Starting out at Fond Gens Libre – or ‘Village of the Free People', named after the freedom fighters who took refuge there in the 1748 slave rebellion – you’ll walk past colorful flora and fauna as you take in the gasp-inducing views.

If you’re after something a little less energetic, then why not spend a few hours at Sulphur Springs Park. A walk through the crater of the dormant Soufrière Volcano takes you past natural hot springs and bubbling mud pools rising from deep underground. A wallow in a mineral-rich mud bath is said to detox and soften the skin, and if you follow that up with bathing at one of the area’s waterfalls, you’ll enjoy nature’s own falling-water massage into the bargain.

Treat your taste buds

Hungry for some local flavor? St Lucia has a lot to offer the traveling gourmet. With everything from five-star dining to spicy street food to tempt you, one of the best places to experience a real St Lucian feast is at the Friday Night ‘Jump Up’ in the fishing village of Gros Islet, in the north of the island. The narrow streets blend into one big party as back-yard barbecues sizzle with fried fish, stalls serve up plentiful liquor and sound systems blast out big beats – late into the night.

For those with a sweet tooth, the island’s long history of chocolate production is a welcome distraction. There have been cocoa plantations on St Lucia for more than 200 years, and the industry produces some of the finest chocolate in the world. At the 140-acre Rabot Estate cocoa plantation, owned by Hotel Chocolat, you can take part in the fascinating Tree to Bar Experience. Learn about the history of St Lucia’s cacao production on a tour through the trees, and finish up by making your very own bar of chocolate from the estate’s quality cacao nibs.

Festival fun

Music, dancing and carnival fun are high on the list of favorite things for most St Lucians. The new Soleil Saint Lucia Summer Festival builds on the reputation of the island’s famous Jazz Festival, incorporating the St Lucia Carnival and the Roots & Soul, Arts & Heritage, and Food & Rum Festivals.

In the mix you’ll find the eye-popping carnival parades – watch as the parade flows past on a flurry of sequins and feathers, and join in with a hip-shaking ‘wine’ to the beat of the steel-drum bands. Celebrate the richness and diversity of Saint Lucia’s cultural, ethnic and artistic heritage with art exhibitions, theatrical performances, and talks. Join the island’s best chefs and drinks connoisseurs to indulge in fine food and free-flowing rum. And let loose with jazz, reggae, hip-hop, Afro-punk and R&B as festival concerts take place in a number of venues across the island, culminating in a grand finale show at Pigeon Island, a 44-acre National Park at the northern tip of St Lucia.
