Low key Vietnamese food. Don’t let the straight-forward menu descriptions fool you. This place really puts a special touch on everything they serve without being in your face fancy. Try the Budda Bao.

Across from a Home Depot on 51st Street ain’t a sexy spot but this family run business makes kick ass tacos, enchiladas and other Mexican fare in a renovated wood house that is decorated with funky yard art outside. The friendly owners are always there at the register or in the kitchen and will greet you with a warm Austin smile.

Sightseeing

Historic Old Austin... a spring fed public pool open all year round. Even if you don’t want to swim it is worth seeing the local color & history. I think it is still just a few bucks to get in.

Essentials

A destination in itself for foodies, this high end market has it all. Sorta like a Whole Foods but less “heatlth food” and more “gourmet”. Wine, Cheese, Beer, prepared foods to go, fruit, veggies and everything else you could possibly want to eat.

Entertainment & Activities

More than a movie theater. Drinks cocktails and food served to you while you watch. No pre-show advertising... amusing pre-show videos instead. Great beer selection. No talking policy during the show.
