The space
This authentic Caribbean style cottage is designed on one high, off-the-ground level with the typical openness, well-ventilated, with big window shutters on all sides, equipped with a basic kitchenette, bathroom with hot-water shower, a full bed with orthopedic mattress, intimate dining area, a quiet ceiling fan, and a porch with hammock and armchair. The height provides a nice hawk's view with a tree top feeling, overlooking the garden towards the beach and catching the refreshing sea breeze. Perfect for a solo retreat, also long-term stay, specially also for a woman wishing a safe space to have an out-time from family and job, or a cozy short-term stay for a couple.

We are situated in a residential beach neighborhood about one mile distance to the center of Puerto Viejo with our tranquil sandy beach literally just a few steps from the cottage. There is a restaurant about 500 yards away, as well as a small supermarket, apart of the many different restaurants and shops, bank, post office, etc. in the nearby town.

I love to travel and have been to many countries in Europe, Asia, North, Central and South America. Since I found Puerto Viejo I decided to actually settle (but still travel occasionally). I just LOVE this area, the powerful nature and its people, and my daughter as well as my grandson were born and raised here. This is my HOME :)
This is also the reason why I'm involved in community work, non-profit grassroots organizations and the protection of our beautiful earth.
