´Casa Marina´ is situated just behind the church in the old town. Two floors (with a total of about 70 m2), 3 bedrooms and a pittoresque little terrace in front. Less than 5 minutes from bakery, minimarket and main square. Very close to climbing crags.
(No Reg. Turísmo VT-35939-V).

The space
The house is situated behind the church in a little alley. It has a lovely little terrace next to the front door where you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee in the sun. The house has two floors. The third floor is a separate apartment with a separate entrance on the left of the outside terrace.

Downstairs you'll find an open kitchen-living with some comfortable sofa's. The small but neat bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin is also situated on the ground floor. The three bedrooms are upstairs. They are all very light and two of then have little balconies. The rooms have a double bed, a single bed and two singles respectively. There´s a separate entrance to a downstairs storeroom where you find the washing machine.

Where you’ll be

Chulilla, Comunidad Valenciana, Spain

Chulilla is a beautiful little village situated in the Turia gorge. The village is built under the old medieval castle walls and consists of little alleys with white houses. From the village it´s a 10 minutes walk down to the river Turia, nowadays a small stream with plenty of shady picnic spots.

Chulilla is very quiet during the week but every weekend the bars and terraces on the one and only village square fill with locals and (in season) foreign climbers. In general restaurants only open in the weekends - apart from the climbers hangout and restaurant ´Goscanos´ which - from oktober till april '- is open most days (they do fabulous pizzas and nice meat or veg burgers).

In the weekends I recommend El Pozo restaurant and Las Hoces del Turia restaurant (both splendid).

Chulilla is a climbers heaven and also very popular with hikers. It´s also a childrens paradise as they can play on the square, build dams in the small river stream, swim and play in the lake or pool (summers only) or visit the play grounds. It´s common to see kids racing down a little ramp on the village square at night time while their parents are having a drink on one of the terraces.

There are two bakeries, two minimarkets, a tabacco shop, a butcher, a pharmacy and a drugstore in town. The suburb La Hermita has a credit-card-pay petrol station.

Every Thursday morning there´s market on the vilage square with some fresh produce, clothing, house ware etc. There are no ATM´s in Chulilla. For cash withdrawels, supermarket and bodegas (wine houses) you can go to the neighbouring towns of Losa del Obispo (10 minutes by car) or Villar de Arzobispo (20 minutes by car).

In Villar is also a bigger supermarket (Consum), a veterinary, two bodegas to buy local wine and olive oil, a Friday open air market, cheap petrol station, hardware shops etc.

For big time shopping go to El Osito shopping centre in L' Eliana where you can find Carrefour Supermarket, Lidl and other chain stores.

For culture go to Valencia... So many nice things to visit there. My favourites: La Lonja, Mercado Central, Torre de Serrano and the Sint Nicolas Church.

I live (most of the year ) in Chulilla in Spain. It´s in this Valencian village surrounded by rocks, that I also rent out a lovely village house.

I am a fanatic rock climber and English language teacher. I also cater Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food (please ask me about details!) and now and then work as a climbing or hiking guide.

Last but not least, I love to read books, watch detective series and go for long walks with my dog Mika (but on the picture you see me with Super Zeb, who sadly passed away in November 2017 - spot his picture and route in the new climbing guide though).

During your stay

The host, Marina, lives in the alley directly above the house and will be available for information and inside tips. Marina will welcome you upon arrival and help you find everything you need. As a very active climber and hiker, she can also inform you about all the newest climbs and tours in the area.

If you arrive at the weekend, Marina will probably be out climbing. She'll inform you before hand, send you details about how to find the house, hide the key for you and meet you after climbing!
