The Casita, an exquisite cottage located a 10 minute drive from town, sits midst the lush banana forest and manicured gardens of The Hacienda. This efficiency apartment has a kitchen, a queen size bed with luxury linens, a bathroom with plush towels and a hot water shower and 2 private terraces overlooking the gardens. The kitchen in fully equipped with a stove, an oven and a small refrigerator. The cabinets and closet are hand-crafted local hardwoods. Guests say 5 stars! Private parking.

The space
We’ve got your back. We know travel can seem a bit daunting right now. In order to provide the very best service and experience for our guests we are upping our game and enhancing our already stringent cleaning policies. We are doing everything recommended (and beyond) to keep you safe and virus free.

Each window has views to the green, lush vegetation. The 2 arched windows add delightful ambience and style. There is a queen size bed with a high quality mattress and luxurious linens, a dining and computer area and a small love seat for watching movies or the warm rain in cozy comfort. There is wireless internet, a TV, DVD player and a small library of DVD’s for your use. We also provide for your use while at The Casita umbrellas, flash light, area maps and brochures.

The kitchen cupboards and the closet are hand crafted from local woods that bring warmth into the room. The kitchen has a small refrigerator, a stove top and oven, and a remarkable country sink and has everything you need to prepare meals. The kitchen has a drip coffee maker, French coffee press, electric kettle, toaster, microwave, blender, rice maker, plates, bowls, glasses, cups, silverware, pots and pans, bake wear, assorted mixing bowls, plastic food saver containers, napkins, paper towels, extra trash bags and dish and kitchen towels, dish soap and much more. We provide some coffee and tea to get you started.

The full light entry doors open onto a private terrace overlooking the seasonal creek. The creek area is tropically lush with many bananas and jungle fauna and is magnificent even in the dry season when the water recedes. You have use of the entire Hacienda complex which comprise walk-ways, terraces and benches where assorted succulents, orchids and bromeliads are gathered to enhance the ambience. There are meditation benches lining the creek bed set in areas that generate quiet contemplation or shared meaningful conversation. Bring your morning coffee or evening glass of wine as you wander the gardens.

In the evenings the black-out curtains can be closed for absolute privacy to insure a wonderful rest. We provide shampoo, cream rinse, shower gel and a hair dryer.

Where you’ll be

Jaramillo Abajo, Chiriquí, Panama

The Hacienda is located half way up the Jaramillo Mountain in the Jaramilllo Centro area of Boquete, Panama. It over looks the town of Boquete and we see the Volcan Baru from our front deck. This area is lush, green and is abundantly beautiful. It is a mixture of Panamanian and ex pat houses so you feel you are living in the country of Panama not a gated community.

We fell in love with Boquete, Panama on a quick trip here 9 years ago. The air is clean and fresh with lush vegetation and the tropical beauty lured us back to purchase a home. We love to hike and garden and be "out" in nature. We wanted to be near the ocean but could not tolerate the heat. Here we can be boogie boarding in an hour and a half or in the river in 30 minutes. I love the mountains so I have the best of all worlds here without the winter weather. We have an endless growing season so I can experiment with the wide variety of bromeliads, orchids and cacti, a lovely mix. I worked in the hospitality sector in the U.S. so opening a small B and B is a great fit.
