Breezy beachfront 1 bdrm/1.5 bath upstairs flat with panoramic ocean views from every room. Full size, fully equipped kitchen with quality stuff. At the end of the quietest beach, just steps from the sand = total peace and the ocean all to yourself.

The space
The main flat at Casa Oasis is the entire second floor, and we built the house right on the beach, so the views (and the breeze) are pretty incredible. The open air living area is covered, so you can feel the tropical air on your skin, without worrying about the sun. (If it's sun you want, we have the pool deck, beachfront sand patio and one hell of a stretch of beach on offer.) The bedroom and bath are completely screened, so you can have windows open to the breezes and not worry about bugs. We designed the place with an eye towards our guests' comfort.

In front of the house is a lovely sandy-bottomed swimming beach with a sporadic surf break (waves permitting). If swells get large, surfing improves, but sometimes rocks are uncovered and swimming is less fun. (This generally only happens during low season.) There are several surf spots nearby, including a couple of consistent breaks within view of the house. Manzanillo Bay surf break is less than a mile away.

Where you’ll be

Troncones, Guerrero, Mexico

We are on the quiet northern end of Troncones' quiet residential beach. Waves and tropical birds will be your soundtrack. We are about half way up Troncones beach, north of "downtown," just far enough from town to escape any crowds or noise, but only a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute cab away from Main Street.

RESTAURANTS: We reccomend Cafe Sol deli (by the bridge), La Mexicana (between us and the bridge), and Chencho's Mini Restaurante (past the T, on the left).

NIGHT LIFE: Not much, apart from the insane amount of stars. Ever seen the milky way? During high season, several restaurants offer live music a few days a week. Cafe Sol has a sports bar, and there are occasional fiesta nights and dance parties, but they all usually end around 10:00 or 11:00, so everyone can get up early and frolic in the sea.

GROCERIES: We really reccommend stopping at the big grocery store (Comercial Mexicana) in Zihuatanejo on your way from the airport, as local stores are small and overpriced. Fresh fish & shrimp, and fruit and veggies, are delivered to our door nearly every day (put out the appropriate sign on our gate and they stop.) They come by less often in summer.

We can help you set up a trusted taxi driver to pick you up at the airport, take you on a grocery run and bring you on "home" to the Oasis, just let us know if you'd like us to book that for you. By day, I'm a writer, designer, photographer, and entrepreneur, and I run Casa Oasis Troncones, our amazing beachfront vacation rentals.

The hospitality industry has been my business for 20 years. We are not just renting the spare room- we run a ten-year old, very popular vacation rental business, catering to nature-loving eco travelers and adventurers of all kinds. We just use AirBnB to supplement our bookings in low season. (If they would let us have the cancellation policy we need, we’d use them in our high season, as well.)

We offer hotel-style service at great prices in an unparalleled beach location. Our friendly, time- warp town is amazing, and it’s nothing compared to our pristine practically private beach, with warm, crystalline surf breaks. We also have the best swimming beach in town.

We’re all about communication. I do all I can to provide an amazing, yet affordable stay for our guests. Our lovely staff has been with us for years, and take their work very seriously. They will take great care of you.

The rest of the time, I'm a travel, book, and animal lover. A quiet guest who values peace, beauty, nature, and access to a great grocery store with organic produce, a funky local coffee shop, and a laid-back yoga studio.

Need to cook, absurdly dependent on wifi, reformed night owl, light sleeper, non smoker.

Favorite cities: Prague, Paris, Peoria (Kidding on the last one. Haven't been). Once i get settled, I want to to visit Istanbul, Buda and Pest, Italy (again), London, Scotland, Australia, etc.

Having been on the hosting side of things for 20 years (I created and ran a B&B for 12 years, and then built and have run the Oasis for the last 8), I try to be the kind of guest i love to have: a respectful, careful, appreciative, reasonably low-maintenance traveler who leaves the place just like they found it.

I appreciate all you've done to create a beautiful and comfortable environment, and I will take good care of your space, just like I take care of my guests.

During your stay

I am not on the property all the time, but I or our on-site manager are reachable via message. Our housekeeper/manager and gardener are there 3-4 days a week, keeping everything beautiful.

Due to COVID, we have had to cut down housekeeping service to twice a week or once every 3-4 days (full cleaning, fresh sheets and towels). If you would rather not have anyone come in at all, just let us know.

REQUESTING CLEANING
To have your flat cleaned, please arrange a day with Karina, then text her with a departure time (by noon, at the latest) and put out the sign then go out and play for at least three hours. This will give us time to air out the flat before and after a thorough cleaning and disinfecting.

Tips are customary in Mexico and they mean a lot to our staff, especially during a pandemic. This is why we do not charge much of a cleaning fee, even though we provide full housekeeping twice a week. Please tip generously if you feel our staff took care of you.

We've been in the hospitality industry for 20 years, so we're pretty good at making sure our guests are well taken care of.

SHARED POOL HOURS: 11am to 7 pm
The pool in front of the downstairs flat is shared--but only available to guests not staying in the downstairs between 11am and 7 pm. This is to ensure the privacy and comfort of downstairs guests.

If peace and privacy are what you're after, the upstairs is like its own planet. With a separate stairway and beach access, you can very much do your own thing. And the roar of the ocean drowns out most sound. You won't even know there are other units.
