Where you’ll be

Psari, Greece

Psari is a quite mountainous village, situated among Mount Ziria and the great mountain-lake Stymphalia, known from the Greek Mythology and Hercules' heroic labour against the 'Stymphalian Birds'.

In the village there are traditional coffee houses, tavernas and a mini market.

Top Advices for Activities and Events (check the official village site named "psarikorinthias"!)

1. Visit the Environmental Museum of Stymphalia (check out the official web site named "piop") and the ancient ruins of "Old Nemea".

Tip 1: Before going the museum read about the legend of Hercules, the demigod son of Zeus, to spark your imagination. Two of the twelve labours of Hercules took place near Psari: the "Slaying the Nemean Lion." (visit the ancient ruins of "Old Nemea": 35' drive) and the "Slaying the Stymphalian Birds." (visit the Stymphalia lake and the museum: 10' drive).

Tip 2: Search for "Archaeological Museum of Nemea" , "Sanctuary of Zeus at Nemea", "Stadium of Nemea", to explore the ancient ruins of "Old Nemea".

2. Visit Lake Doxa: 45' drive
3. Enjoy skiing in Ziria Ski Center: 45' drive and Menalon Ski Center: 45' drive.
4. Swim in Kiato Beach: 35' drive.

5. Walk/hike through the surviving “Paths of Culture" in the natural beauty and historical importance of the area (the office site of Psari offers detailed maps for the best hiking experience or check the website of "monopathiapolitismou" for detailed maps of the awarded historical routes and specifically look for "Mountainous Corinthia-Psari" routes)

6. Follow the Path of Wines and visit the local vineries of the famous "agiorgitiko" wine: ktimagofa, harlaftis, katogi-strofilia, koroniotis-wines, lafkioti, palivos, papaioannouwines, repanis, skouras, vassilioudomaine.

7. Participate in the Annual Raisin Festival of early September.
