Extensively refurbished in 2017-2018 after Hurricane Harvey.

DOG OK (1 MAX 40 LBS). $10 PER NIGHT.

The space
Welcome to La Perla! Our casita and it's private outdoor living space have been lovingly restored and modernized after Hurricane Harvey with style inspiration from Tulum, Mexico.

Inside, enjoy an incredibly comfortable king size bed with variations of pillows based on preference, top notch air conditioning for those hot summer days, modern design touches with nods to international beaches, spacious common area with full kitchen and all the equipment you need to craft a lovely meal at home. The Mexican cement tile floors are original, and are different in every casita.

Modern appliances in the kitchen with TVs in the common space and in the bedroom offer all of the conveniences you'll need for a cozy night in. A drip coffee maker awaits you in the morning, BYO coffee.

When the weather is cool, turn off the A/C, toss open the doors, and enjoy the indoor / outdoor living on the wrap around deck. Feel free to build a fire in the chiminea as well.

Outside, bask in complete privacy held within the grounds of the privacy fence. The grill, dome chairs, comfortable outdoor dining table, and hammock chair can be enjoyed year round. And don't forget to turn on the cafe lights for a little extra sparkle.

I love my labardoodle Gerti and encourage you to bring your four-legged baby on holiday with you. One dog under 25 pounds only, additional fees apply (see below).

The entire property of La Perla is a **smoke free area**, please. The space will accommodate 3 adults or a couple with 2 children on the full-size pull out sofa.

Where you’ll be

Port Aransas, Texas, United States

One of our favorite things about La Perla is her charming Spanish Village neighborhood. Spanish Village was built in the 1940s and has lived many lives over the past 70 years. Nestled in the heart of the Port Aransas "old town", the cottages were originally in business as a motel set around a circular drive. Over the next 50 years, the motel would fall into some state of disrepair and ultimately sit vacant for 10 years until a Port Aransas native bought the property in 2004 and began restoring the cinderblock casitas.

Today, the casitas have been lovingly restored by individual owners, mostly Texans, who all feel the same sense of passion for Port Aransas as our family does. It's not uncommon to take a stroll around the drive in the evening with a glass of wine and have fellow Spanish Villagers invite you into their yard for a peek at the distinctive refurbishment in that specific casita. If you do get an invitation, check out the Mexican cement tile -- it's all so different!

Along with our neighbors, we love the idea of restoration in a little place that has a long and storied life in the rear view mirror, ready for what the new tide will bring.

Paige is the owner of La Perla. Her love for Port Aransas started for her family in the 70s, when her dad Mike started coming every summer with his Texas A&M college buddies for the excellent fishing. Over the years, Paige's family would vacation in Port A every summer exclusively.

Paige has lived in Atlanta, New York City, and now resides in Austin. Her love for travel can be felt all throughout the La Perla casita. Most notable influences on the design and style of the casita are from trips to Tulum, Mexico. The incredible Mexican beaches, Spanish tile, mixed metals, natural elements, and the importance placed on indoor/outdoor fluidity were incredibly inspiring to her in the casita's design. Note the eccentric and original (!) Mexican tile floors. One of the primary photos in the living room is of Hartwood Tulum, one of her favorite restaurants in the world.

All of the Spanish Village homeowners love this little community and have bonded together to recover after Hurricane Harvey. We are so happy to welcome travelers back into Spanish Village for love, laughter, and new memories made in Port A!

I was raised in Port Aransas and recently returned to the shore from the hill country. I have also taken over my mother's (Billie) Vacation Rental Property Management. I love what I do and I love living in Port Aransas. I enjoy meeting travelers and hope that they continue to return to stay with us year after year.
