Where you’ll be

Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada

For those who enjoy an active lifestyle, Lochaber Lake is fully stocked with Lake Trout, and boasts great fishing year round. The lake is also home to the Saint Francis Xavier University and Antigonish Rowing Clubs, which host several local, provincial, and national regattas throughout the spring, summer, and fall months. Swimming, power boating, canoeing, kayaking and sailing are all popular on the lake. During the winter, the cottage experiences significant snowfall, and snowshoeing is possible and there is easy access to the Gusborough and Antigonish County snowmobile trails. There are several nearby waterfalls, and excellent mountain biking on the College Grant Road trails and nearby Keppoch Mountain recreational area.

To the north, just a quick 25 minute drive, is the university town of Antigonish, home of Saint Francis Xavier University (StFX) and its world renowned Cody Institute, St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish Arena, a busy town market, plus the services of a modern community including grocery stores, restaurants, and the vibrant Theatre Antigonish summer theatre scene.

To the south, just 30 minutes, is the historic Sherbrooke Village, where you can explore an incredible living history museum with costumed interpreters bringing history to life in 25 original heritage buildings on 53 acres. The historic St. Mary's river is an excellent canoeing river, as well as a well know river for salmon fishing.
