Welcome ! Come enjoy this unique house built by an archeologist 14 years ago in a traditional way (mudbricks) but with European confort. You will enjoy the intimicy of the village, to be close from local and to see the air ballons in the sky on the early morning. At the crossroads of the green fields, the archeological site and the desert you will be at the best spot to discover the West Bank of luxor.

The space
The house is a mudbrick house with earthen coating in which we where personally leaving for 14 years.
There is 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and one bedroom with desk on the mezzanine that can be isolated by curtains.
The bedrooms doesn’t have Windows as the house was settle between two other houses, we fixed the issues by keeping a middle window patio for lights and air.
The ground floor is equipped with 3 air conditioning and fan, the mezzanine only with portable fan.
You will have access to a dining room, a leaving room, a fully equipped kitchen (toaster, boiler, Italian moka pot, hand mixer and blender, oven, fridge with freezer, pans and pots and some basic ingredients) and a bathroom with toilet and shower.
Outside you will enjoy to a patio in the front of the house ,with a slide and a cabin for kids, and a terrace on the top.
As the house is situated near the desert you have to be aware that, despite a big cleaning, the house can become/dusty very quickly.
Electrical and water cut can happened as your are in Africa, but rarely those past year and low pressure of water is the average. Regarding that issue a pump can be actionned out of the bathroom ( right switch near the door) to high up the pressure. Feel free to use it and be cautious to turn it off after use.
Some personal effects are in the house, we trust you to take care of them and feel free to reed books, use the kids toys and books, cook with some ingredients (we just ask to replace what you broke - or informed us of it, and replace what you finish).
Wifi is available on demand.

Where you’ll be

Luxor Governorate, Egypt

You will be leaving in a small and confidentiel area, a mix of local family, expat leaving there for 30 years and archeologist working on the archeological surrounding site. It is quite a special life. Feel free and confortable to hang out in the village, when ou fridays you can participate to some football actions. There is a Small grocery store on the village for basic needs and 5 minutes walk form a fruit/vegetable seller. You are 5 minutes walk to medinet Habu temple, the most fabulous for us, with the deepest hieroglyphs we saw in egypt . You are 10 minutes walk from the desert, coffee/juice place and 10 to 15 to restaurant and art gallery and the famous Memnon Colossi. Far from the city but closer from the King valley, noble tombes, and most of the archeological sites it is a spot for relaxing and be able to discover real life of this rural area.
