Where you’ll be

Hamois, Région Wallonne, Belgium

Hamois, my beautiful commune...

It's a region that's seduced by its beauty, simplicity, and all the treasures it has to offer… A land of castles, mills, barns, and large condruzian crafts. Traces of the past, there are some on every corner, to every meandering Bocq... Its waters come out in the heart of the small village of Scy. In Hamois, along the Bocq along its winding route, you'll find castles... There are 14 of them passing through impeccably perched or gently shady weather.

Ry Castle in Mohiville has been the star of Maillen's family since the 16th century. In Scoville, the mill site, crossed by an old diverticulum, includes the old mill and the laundry which still bears the traces of the domestic activity of the women, who came to wash and beat their laundry in the river.

Then, Achet comes, with its small castle and old lime ovens, set in front of a quarry, which has an important activity. Then is Hamois. With the hamlet of Hubinne, you'll find the oldest part of the village. Hamois is also Buresse… A nice postcard with its castle and its typical Condruzian farms.

Just a few miles away, Schaltin interacts… With its heart of a village mostly built with oat stone, a typical yellow stone.

Through the hamlet of Champion, you arrive in Emptinne...where the communal house is located. In the 18th century, Emptinne was an important stop at the horse post office, thanks to its postal relay, on the main road to Luxembourg.
Beyond the Nationale 4 is Natoye… We discover the hamlet of Skeuvre with its castle known in the world of comic books under the name of Chateau de Champignac… Its architecture has served as a source of inspiration for the cartoonist Franquin in the famous comic book Spirou and Fantasio!

In short, Hamois is a collection of riches, whether built, natural, or historical, but it is above all a small paradise... A protected land where it's good to live! Where it's good to stop for a moment.
