Great place for quite getaway.
From a Guest:
“The chalet itself holds a commanding view of the Central Valley. It’s well equipped and very secure. A car is needed to get there. We loved the secluded nature of the chalet and spent time together rocking in the hammocks and enjoying the view all the way to the Pacific and noticing several varieties of hummingbirds in the flowers nearby. The Poas, and Barva Volcanoes, the La Paz Waterfall Garden are nearby and not to be missed”. Spectacular sunsets.

The space
The Chalet equally shares 3 acres with the main house, the property is called Finca “Le Terrazze”. Caretaker/owner is usually on the property but the privacy is guaranteed by a generous space between the places. Guests will enjoy their own pathways among trees and flower beds, hammocks and sitting areas perfect for relaxing, bird watching and book reading. With its 500 square feet of livable space and its amenities, the chalet is suitable for longer stays too. WiFi, smart tv with premium cable channels (several US channels), outdoor grill, full size kitchen with 6 burners gas stove, medium size refrigerator and dishwasher, clothes washer etc.. An electric fireplace will give guest some warmth needed in cool evenings and create the ambience for romantic getaway. The queen size bed is facing the window wall for the view but large black out curtains will give you privacy as needed.
Bathroom has a comfortable tiled shower. Walk in closet guarantees enough storage space for longer stays. Awning over the balcony gives guests an opportunity to enjoy the outdoor in any weather.
A German shepherd, Zeus, is part of our family. He is very friendly and he is a great guardian.

Since 1994, time I acquired the property, I have been working to bring it back to its original status. Deforestation in the past century left this mountain with a man made transformation without respecting the nature of it. Despite all the odds for being most of the time outside this country, I can say I’m happy to give this land something back with a planned reforestation started 10 years ago. It’s happening now.

Where you’ll be

Heredia Province, Costa Rica

The chalet and a main house seat on more than 3 acres property. There is a lot of privacy as both places share the land equally with their own pathways and tree/ flower gardens.
The property is located at the doors of the Braulio Carrillo National Park at 1,800 meters altitude on the hills of the Barva Volcano. Its beautiful National Park is very close. Also, with a 30-40 minutes drive you can get to the Poas Volcano or to other sections of Braulio Carrillo. Same distance to the famous La Paz Waterfall Garden. Great hikes, great mountain bike/road bike trails. Day trip to best white water rafting in the country. The first town, El Roble, is located 4km down hill and offers small markets, bakeries, butchers, pharmacy and a good sport bar/restaurant. The town of Santa Barbara offers a complete shopping with 2 supermarkets, bakeries, several banks with ATMs, hospital, restaurants and is located 15 minutes away. Major cities: Heredia is 25 minutes away; San Jose 40 minutes away as for the airport Juan Santamaria, 30-40 min. I would recommend to check the La Perla street food market in Heredia on Fridays for longer stays to buy fruit, vegetables and fish. The town of Barva, 20 minutes away, beside being one of the oldest town in the country with its historical church, also offers all your shopping needs and an upscale supermarket, Auto Mercado, with a great wine selection. Also place for a very functional emergency room hospital.
