We have two houses on our beautiful coastal plot in Watamu, Kenya -a main house with 5 double bedrooms and a guest cottage (this listing). The houses share a pool and one acre of garden. The poolside cottage has two en-suite double bedrooms, a central living space and fully-functioning kitchen. The veranda has separate lounge and dining areas where groups can eat, play and relax. There is Wi-Fi included.

The space
An ideal place to relax after a Kilimanjaro or Mount Kenya expedition, or an up-country safari, this is a very affordable place with great charm.

NB. For bigger groups, our main house has 5 bedrooms (3 en-suite) which open on to cool balconies overlooking trees and visiting monkeys. It also has a roof terrace with panoramic views of the surrounding forest and Indian Ocean beyond.

Our excellent house manager, Ephraim, our askari (night-guard), Michael, and security back-up are all included in the rent. Ephraim can also cook delicious curries upon request using fresh seafood that is brought right to the door by the local fisherman.

Explore Gede, the ruins of a 14th century Swahili city, scuba dive or snorkel on Watamu's coral reef, kitesurf, SUP or canoe in the creek -there is plenty to do in Watamu. Paint, walk, swim, jog, read in a hammock, or eat Italian food in Malindi, a busy town half an hour away. Our base is perfect for a memorable tropical holiday.

We only rent one place at a time - so you will be on your own! We are happy to negotiate rates on long lets. If we are not at Watamu, you will be met and greeted by Ephraim, our manager. He has worked for us for 30 years, and will prove to be a great host. He will give you an information sheet, with numbers for taxis, doctors, supermarket etc., and we will be a phone call or email away if you have any queries he can't deal with. Enjoy your stay!
