Bocas del Toro Province, Panama
Our Island Home has amazing views of Carenero Island Bay from the roof-top deck. It is 1 minute away from many beaches, and many surfing locations inside the tropical rain forest of the archipelago of Bocas del Toro.
We are inside a gigantic National Park & Natural Reserve with spectacular views of mangroves, beaches, underwater reefs, and more than 200 islands mostly uninhabited. Near by you can find Bird Island National Park, Bastimento Rain Forrest National Park, Playa Estrella Natural Reserve, Dolphin Bay Natural reserve, San San Pond Sak National Park for turtle nesting and biodiversity for protected species.
Poetry Garden Bungalows are centrally located in Isla Colon, also known as Bocas Island, or Colon Island where you will find many surfing beaches in a tropical paradise.
We are on first street only 1 block from downtown in Colon Island. All the bars, restaurants, tours and night life is within walking distance. 6 blocks away from the airport or 1 minute car ride to catch your flight.
Since we are located near a public gym you may expect some noise from children cheering or clapping during special local holidays and final game matches such as mother's day, new years, christmas, easter and semana santa, some Fridays and Saturday nights etc.
IMPORTANT: This accommodation is a Bungalow Airbnb Home in a remote island in the jungles of Central America inside a natural reserve floating in the Caribbean Ocean surrounded amazing views with inhabitants such as dolphins, turtles, sloths and monkeys where you will see beautiful stars at night and amazing island views during the day. But this is not a hotel and this is not a city.
If you feel you are more suited to be in a Hotel or Resort in a City then this place is not for you.
Come prepared for adventures and surprises. You will be in a local home next to local people where you may see families, children, international tourists, the occasional cat walking on the roof, loud birds singing, crickets making noises at night, or a small gecko visiting your bathroom. Expect the unexpected and be flexible and ready for anything such as possible city power outages, water shortages for a few hours a day, extreme heat, rain, mosquitos, big spiders, poisonous frogs, loud city parades, carnivals with men dress like devils ("los diablos") that may whip you if you don't run fast, you may also see public dancing and drinking, uneven pedestrian side walks and even large storms that could flood the streets or maybe you will see none of those at all.
One thing is for sure: Nature will be one of the most beautiful you will ever see, your experience will be unforgettable, and your hosts will be there to help you during your stay.
