Where you’ll be

Eti-Osa, Lagos, Nigeria

It's the "New cool Lagos"!
*It's safe, and in the Upperclass area of Lagos. It has some of the most amazing places to visit, from art markets to jet ski rentals. Most of these are "off the beaten path"
*It is ONLY 5 minutes from the business district of Victoria Island, so you can get into do business fast, but not held up by the nasty grinding traffic in V.I. If staying there.
*Lots to do, malls, cinemas, restaurants etc.

*Food and grocery shopping:
just a 5mun walk from us is the nicest shop (Evans supermarket). This has everything from fresh fruit to clothes, food, cakes, drug-store etc. VERY handy.

*Cinemas
Two multi screen complexes are about 10mins away by car in opposite directions, take your pick. The ultra-cool Lekki iMax or the Genesis cinema at the palms shopping center.
(Genesis is cheaper, plus better popcorn quality, plus some tickets add free drinks & popcorn too)
Lekki iMax is super trendy, has a bar, free WiFi & an iMax screen. It’s more expensive too.

*Food
Lots of bars, deliveries, pizzas, Chinese, lounges and waterfront restaurants, only a 5min can ride across the highway at the other side of Lekki-1.
KFC, Coldstone creamery, Dominos pizza etc for fast food, if you want that sort of thing.

*Bars
Plenty to enjoy, from odyssey round the corner, to switch-bar , E-bar, & plenty, modern lounges to keep you up late too.

*kids too!
Fun factory has all the rides on the other side of lekki, the new “Twin-waters” complex is the ULTIMATE game stop arcade for kids to enjoy. Games and rides abound, just like in the UK, and it’s a nice place for parents to have a drink & wait on their kids. Standard burgers, wings etc are served, with cold beers etc. Seaside views and even a Chinese restaurant upstairs. (A bit pricey).
Budget about N5k for your kids to spend on games.

*Arts & Crafts
Works renowned Nike Art gallery is a must see, just about 5mins down the expressway, by the 3rd roundabout. Fantastic art & gift ideas.

*beach.
We are virtually surrounded by water & beaches, but be careful where you go, due to safety concerns. Artican beach, Elegushi and further down Eleko are recommended. (Please check online for updated info and see which suits you.)

*Eclectic
Go visit the local Jakande Art Market. Fantastic place to buy cheap art and gifts. 15mins by road, bargain like a local though.

* Exercise & keeping fit:
We know that in modern living, stress abounds and it’s easy to get off-track when on the move, away from home. To help out, we have provided a basic gym with a treadmill sit-up bench & light weights at Millennium.
Walking is popular in Lekki & I encourage it. Being a gated community, take advantage of the area’s closed gates which stop reckless Lagos drivers & with some level of street security, you can go for a brisk walk, weaving in and out the streets around. You should be able to get in 1- 2km daily in about 9-20mins only. Plenty of people do, Expats & Locals.
(Stay away from dark back streets & the areas around waterline sections of Lekki).
*Morning, early is best time, as the suns not yet blistering hot. Take some music, earphones, comfortable shoes & not much more. Don’t forget to keep our concierge desk phone number with you too!
Why not use this exercise time ALSO as your thinking time to set the course for a perfect day!

*Security
Be a smart Traveller, be polite always, keep valuables at home, don’t flash cash or foreign currency, do web research on places before you visits, or ask one of my colleagues, we’ll be glad to assist with info.

Enjoy, life’s too short, let’s make the most and best of it guys!

To a good Lagos stay & Visit
Cheers.

>>>>Addendum:
[*I've written a popular personal blog post (published on Linked-in blogs) about things to do in Lekki which aims to show a secret, pleasant side to living in our Lekki-1 neighbourhood which I recommend to all guests. It covers personal advice from visiting the beaches to art purchasing...
You can just do a search for this blog post: (live-in-lagos-try-these-fun-9-must-do's). It lists some great things to discover and do.
Please share, we want others to benefit.]
