We’re excited to offer Black Hammer Hus, a secluded and convenient, Norwegian getaway for groups of friends and families - all are welcome to enjoy our beautiful countryside property. It's the perfect retreat to disconnect and create memories for a lifetime. Enjoy coffee on the deck as you watch the sunrise, explore the many outdoor activities of the Driftless region, and finish off the night with dinner on the patio as the sun sets.
The space
Natural light flows throughout this newly renovated farmhouse that sits on 3 acres surrounded by cornfields offering the perfect place to escape from the hustle and grind of everyday life. With beautiful views, the perfect size woods for children to play in, and a short drive to restaurants, museums, hiking, biking and more— we knew we had to share it with others as a restful retreat.
In the winter, spend the day snowshoeing nearby trails, then return to make a cup of hot cocoa in the well-appointed kitchen and cozy up by the fireplace to read a book or play board games from our collection.
Spring, summer, and fall are perfect for lounging in the oversized porch swing, napping in the hammock and taking in the gorgeous sunsets. After a day of kayaking or golfing, gather round the outdoor table for a meal and finish out the perfect day with a night around the fire pit to make s'mores and stargaze. (PICTURES COMING SOON)

Bedroom 1: Main Floor- One Queen Bed

All bedrooms feature new mattresses and clean linens, a ceiling fan in each bedroom, and a place to hang clothes and luggage rack.
BATHROOMS + LAUNDRY
There are two bathrooms, one one each floor.
Upstairs bathroom has tub and shower, downstairs bathroom features walk in shower and heated floors.
There is laundry on the main floor with a new washer and dryer.
KITCHEN + DINING
The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals together, including essential pots, pans, small appliances, salt, pepper, and cooking oil. There’s a Red’s IGA grocery store within 10 minutes where you can do all your shopping or enjoy fresh produce at Music & Market on Wednesday nights from May to October. When it’s time to eat, there’s a 6-person dining table, stools at the kitchen counter, and a 6-person outdoor dining table. We provide a drip coffee maker, ground coffee and a Keurig machine (must supply your own pods). The fridge dispenses filtered, softened drinking water if well water isn’t your thing.
LIVING ROOM
The natural light-filled living room has large windows to enjoy the view outside. There's Smart TV where you can log into your favorite accounts and plenty of comfy seating to lounge or play games together. There’s also an electric burning fireplace for some extra warmth if you need it.
PETS
Up to 2 dogs are welcome for an additional cleaning fee. We thoroughly clean between stays but please consider our pet-friendly policy if you are highly allergic to dogs.
