A warm welcome awaits in our 2 bedroom converted barn, nestled in the Somerset countryside, an amazing variety of birds visit including woodpeckers, robins and blue tits who nest in our orchard. Accessible and cosy, it is wheelchair friendly, with a stair lift and ramps. Make amazing memories, 20 minutes from Bristol city centre and 20 minutes to Weston-super-mare. We have all the amenities of a country house, including a log burner, fully stocked farmhouse kitchen, beams and French doors.

The space
Priory Barn has ramp access into the property, leading to the Kitchen and utility. The Kitchen hosts family style living, with a central dining table seating up to 6 people. The double French doors open onto the garden, where you can sit with your morning coffee watching the same birds that have visited for years. This follows through to the lounge, with a sofa, rise and recliner chair and a rocking chair, with enough room for wheelchair access. Centred around a cosy log burner, it is perfect for reading a book and dosing off to sleep! There is a downstairs toilet, and a stairlift available to use if required. (Kids will also love this). Two bedrooms upstairs, both grand and spacious, one with a rise and recliner chair and en-suite with walk in shower, the other an en-suite wet room with accessible handles and toilet. Both bedrooms have a balcony overlooking the garden, and electric shutters for extra long lie-ins.

Where you’ll be

Sandford, England, United Kingdom

Somerset has lots of surprises waiting to be discovered. As one of the larger English counties, Somerset has stunning beaches, green countryside, woodlands, lakes & more, covering a wide range of landscapes & environments. There’s so much to explore in this wonderful county, that even those lucky enough to live in Somerset are continually discovering its gems; wildflower meadows, beach waterfalls, ancient wells, unique carvings & underground reservoirs.

These hidden gems can be found in addition to the well-known landmarks of Somerset, such as Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, Wells Cathedral or Exmoor, which have secrets of their own to be explored.

Think of Somerset & what comes to mind? For some it is the stunning views across open countryside, others the fun to be had on its sandy beaches, or maybe it’s the superb strawberries, Cheddar cheese & cider? Our county is famous for the Glastonbury Festival, carnivals, Mulberry handbags & Arthurian legends, but there’s much more to be discovered!

Sandford is a beautiful little village around 15 minutes from the bustling seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare and about 20 minutes from the city of Bristol. Sandford is home to the Thatchers distribution centre; which has tours available and has a great local pub next door called The Railway Inn; which you may be pleased to hear is at a walkable distance from Priory Barn! 2 minutes down the road is Mendip Activity Centre; where you can learn to ski, snowboard or even archery! They have lots of wonderful activities for all the family; and fully disabled accessible.

In the next village along called Winscombe; has lovely little shops and cafes; as well as a lovely pub, making for a perfect afternoon out. Cheddar; home to Cheddar Gorge and of course the cheese is only a quick 10 minute drive away and definitely worth a day out.

Should you wish to travel a little further; Bristol has everything to please everyone; where you will be sure to please the wife with the great shopping, SS great Briton; or the kids with activities like Airhop, Bristol Zoo and aquarium or the famous science museum.
