The view is peaceful and beautiful – the perfect spot to make use of a portable BBQ and have a glass of wine. Watch the famous Cairnryan Ferry sail in and dock at the port.

Walk past the Chaine Memorial (Rapunzel’s) tower. Try knocking the door to see if she will let down her hair. Find the Prom Café on your left for breakfast, lunch or coffee, with a fabulous view.

Continue along the promenade and enjoy the scenery. Explore the rock pools – can you find sea urchins and crabs? Collect some white pebbles for painting when you get home.

Discover the town park with seating areas, beautiful view, tennis courts and a fabulous play park. Occasionally there is entertainment in the park – particularly throughout the summer months.

At night time, walk to nearby bars and restaurants – The Olderfleet Bar and Restaurant serves delicious food, boasts an extensive beer garden and has lively nightlife. It’s a 10-minute walk from your accommodation and often has entertainment on late. Another short walk away is Katy Jane's at the Curran Court hotel. A must for food, cocktails, live music and a heated beer garden.

It’s also worth mentioning that opposite the development is a large grassy area called Sandy Bay. It’s perfect for a kick about or game of rounders with the kids.

Ballygally is a 5-minute drive from your base. Ballygally beach is a stunning sandy beach, one of the most beautiful on the north coast.

On your way up the coast drive through the black arch tunnel and stop to take a photograph with the famous Ballygally Polar Bear.

Visit Ballygally Castle, the most haunted hotel in Europe. Have a drink in the lounge and explore their beautiful garden. Read about the spooky history of the castle. Are you brave enough to visit the ghost room?

Belfast is a short 30-minute drive away from your base, here is the ideal location for exploring Northern Ireland’s capital city. You could also make use of the Larne to Belfast train. The Larne Harbour stop is a 5-minute stroll from your accommodation. Leaving the car at home means you’re free to visit the famous pubs and bars in Belfast.
