Very central, just 50 steps to the beach and 4 doors from Naia Cafe - the ideal location.
This ground floor, one-bedroom apartment for 3, is bright, cute and cosy. It's equipped with all the essentials - plus decent WIFI - and if the overhead fans and sea breeze aren't enough to cool the space for you, the bedroom has AC.

PLEASE NOTE: there's construction work next door with sporadic noise between 8-6. We have reduced our prices to reflect this. It has not been a problem for our guests so far

Where you’ll be

El Cuyo, Yucatán, Mexico

UNDISCOVERED PARADISE!
El Cuyo is an authentic fishing village with virgin beaches and stunning emerald waters. It's only 2 hours and 15 minutes from Cancun but so far it has remained relatively undiscovered and undeveloped. So if you'd prefer to relax on an empty beach, where the locals are friendly and the fish is fresh - rather than hanging out with the hoards in Quintana Roo, El Cuyo is the place for you!

DAY TRIPS:
El Cuyo is also perfectly placed for day trips to Isla Holbox, the pink lagoons of Las Colorada and the ruins of Ek Balam. Chichen Itza is also feasible within a day. (Please note that there are limited tour providers, so a rental car makes these trips far more cost-effective and easier)

NATURE:
El Cuyo is part of the nature reserve of Ria Lagartos and the wildlife is abundant. Your neighbours are turtles, pelicans, flamingos and iguanas, and if you're lucky you'll get to spot a dolphin or giant manta from the beach! There are also 250 different species of birds in the lagoon area.

WATERSPORTS:
If you want a little more action, you can try kiteboarding. El Cuyo has been featured in numerous international kiting magazines and is quickly becoming known as a hot new kiting destination. There are various schools in the town.
For those who don't kite, the breeze - which usually picks up around lunchtime - serves to keep the heat bearable! Usually, in the mornings, there's no wind and the sea is perfectly calm so it's great for paddleboarding or canoeing/kayaking. Extreme Control Sports rents SUPs.
When the sea is really calm and visibility is clear (usually in the summer months) snorkelling is possible and there are a couple of interesting spots nearby.

EL CUYO FACILITIES:
As El Cuyo is a fishing village and a beach & nature haven, it does not have all the facilities of a modern tourist resort.
It does have the basics - small grocery shops, clinic and gas station are all within walking distance to the property - but if you want to enjoy some of the 'finer' things during your stay, we recommend a trip to the supermarket before you come.
Note however that there are restaurants, snack food places, pizzerias and cafes in El Cuyo. Some close for low season - September and October

NEED TO KNOW!
There is no ATM and very few places accept credit cards - please bring enough cash for the duration of your stay.
The nearest town to El Cuyo which has ATMs, supermarkets etc, is Tizimin - which is just over an hour away by car.

EL CUYO BEACHES:
The sea and beach are perfect for bathers including children, with fine sandy, slowly sloping shores and clear warm water. Very rarely a northerly wind may bring seaweed to the coastline but normally within 24 hours it is swept away.

CASA LOS PECES LOCATION:
Casa Los Peces is on the west side of town on the Veraniega sand road, just 3 doors from Naia cafe. It's super central and just across the road from the best stretch of beach...the ideal location.
