Nestled on the edge of the New Forest National Park; Blackberry Pye is a beautiful, converted 1920's railway carriage.

Set in a secluded spot on our family-run farm overlooking rolling fields, it is perfect for stargazing and getting away from it all!
The decking area outside is 'suspended' above the river, creating a truly unique experience.

This bespoke, handmade carriage provides you with all the luxuries you need for a rural, relaxing break in the great British countryside.

The space
We are a family-run cattle and sheep farm, explore the farm during your stay, use our course fishing lakes or have a swim in our indoor heated swimming pool - which has just been newly renovated.
Due to the it's excellent insulation & electric heater, the carriage is cosy all year round and so is perfect for both summer and winter stays.

Inside the Blackberry Pye there is:
- A comfy double bed
- Soft bed linen and towels
- A TV
- Electric heating
- Plenty of storage
- Fridge/freezer
- Oven with hob
- Table & bench seating underneath the bed
- Kitchen sink
- Shower
- Toilet
- Basin
- Fully insulated windows & doors
- Kettle and toaster
- Crockery, cutlery and glasses
- Pots, pans and trays
- Salt & pepper
- Tea, coffee and sugar

Outside the hut there is:
- Decking area suspended over the river
- Table and bench that seats 2
- Rustic fire bowl: we can provide a bbq arm and a fire basket which includes firelighters, matches and fire logs at an extra cost of £15 (please confirm if you would like the fire basket before you arrive).
- A river on the hut's doorstep
- Parking area and lawn
- Beautiful surroundings with neighbours such as sheep, cows, ducks, moorhen, geese and heron!

Please note, there is no WIFI as the hut is in a remote location and we feel it is more peaceful without it.
However, there is a TV and a Roberts Radio to keep you entertained on rainy days.

Where you’ll be

Plaitford, England, United Kingdom

Situated in the small, sleepy village of Plaitford, Shepherd's Pye is not far from the historic towns and cities of Romsey, Winchester and Salisbury. There is plenty to do and see!

There are plenty of great pubs and eateries only a 5-10 minute drive away, as well as lots of local farm shops to buy local produce.

We are on the edge of the New Forest - only across the road! So very close by to explore the forest and beautiful villages such as Burley and Lyndhurst. There are also National Trust areas within easy reach such as Mottisfont Abbey and Pepperbox Hill. Moors Valley Country Park (including Go Ape) is only a 30 minute drive across the forest.

The historic town of Romsey, the local market town is only a 10 minute drive and the cities of Salisbury (Cathedral and Stonehenge) and Winchester (Cathedral and lots of shopping and restaurants) are only a 20-30 minute drive.

We are only a 20-30 minute drive from the coast and popular beaches such as Lepe, Isle of Wight, Mudeford Quay and Bournemouth are nearby.

The nearest train station is in Romsey, which travels to areas such as Salisbury, Southampton and Bath. Alternatively if travelling further afield, the trains at Southampton Central and Winchester travel to London etc.
