You will be delighted with our chic, loft-style one-bedroom apartment which is located within a 19th century silk mill built by Josiah Smale which still retains many of its original features.

Whilst being centrally located, The Silk Mill is extremely quiet and peaceful making it the perfect place to unplug, reflect and unwind. It boasts a host of top class amenities, incl. free WIFI, NETFLIX, free parking (first come first serve basis), a work station and a BRAND NEW fully equipped kitchen.

The space
The Silk Mill comprises a spacious and stylish loft style apartment located on the second floor of a converted silk mill of historic significance, which we have sought to bring alive with various historic pictures of the Mill and surrounding area and intriguing tales from working life in the Mill.

Styled to a traditional/ modern theme, we have created a space for you to unwind and relax in whilst still being able to enjoy the trappings of modern life. Our apartment is a real home from home and is equipped with everything you might need during your stay. We have summarised the property's amenities as follows:

• Free resident‘s parking to the rear of the property. There are a limited number of spaces and the car park operates on a first come first serve basis. Should the car park be full, there is a large, cheap car park providing 140 spaces directly opposite the mill which permits overnight parking.

• Newly fully fitted and fully stocked kitchen ideal for long term stays
• New Dolce Gusto coffee machine
• Modern bathroom equipped with a bathtub, shower & natural lighting

The Silk Mill’s advantage is truly its magnificent location - within a few minutes’ walk you will find everything which this historic market town has to offer, including an abundance of bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, parks and museums.

It's ideally located on the edge of the Peak District and the Cheshire Plain both of which boast too many walks and attractions to mention.

Furthermore, Macclesfield railway station and bus station are both within a 3-minute walk and Manchester Airport is approx. 20 minutes by car.

Given its central location, we thought it would be easier to give approximate walking time to the main attractions/ places of interest in Macclesfield:

• Macclesfield Railway Station: 3 minutes
• Macclesfield Bus Station: 1 minute
• Aldi: 1 minute
• Mill Street/ Grosvenor Shopping Centre (main shopping area): 2 minutes
• The Picturedrome (hip new food hall): 8 minutes
• Macclefield Silk Museum & Paradise Mill Museum: 4 minutes
• South Park & Playground: 8 minutes
• Macclesfield Hospital: 16 minutes
• Astra Zeneca: 22 minutes

In addition to the above Macclesfield is located on the western edge of the Peak District and as such makes the perfect base to explore the area.

We are Julia, Matt, little Noah and the newest addition to our family, Josh. I am a procurement executive originally from Hamburg, Germany and Matt is a Chartered Surveyor.

Our interests include discovering the work with our children (Noah is a huge fan of Spain), exercising and we are both passionate linguists - both of us are fluent in English and German and I am fluent in Spanish having studied in Mexico and Madrid.

Four years ago we moved back to the UK to be closer to Noah and Josh's cousins having spent 9 years living in Frankfurt.
