This tiny town has a population of 500. Weinheimer's General store sells groceries, hardware, clothing, kitchen supplies, shoes and boots, and has a meat market and deli. Chocolates El Rey is a local importer of Chocolates and offers free chocolate tastings. The LBJ Ranch National Park is two miles down the road, as is the LBJ State Park, home of the Sauer-Beckmann Farmstead, a great place to visit and see how the local German-settlers lived around the turn of the 20th century.

I work as a nurse in the Fredericksburg area so close attention to COVID-19 precautions and cleaning are a priority. Bob, my husband, is my co-host. Bob's roots here are deep. His German family immigrated to the county in 1846. He is a wealth of knowledge of the area, hill country bike rides, and history. We have both enjoyed the local restaurants, wineries, breweries, bike riding, and local events and entertainment and will gladly provide good advise for your stay.
