Elaia is a traditional house built around a courtyard but with modern bedrooms and facilities. It's tucked away just 100 metres from the village square of Lythrodontas, an easy-to-access village on the eastern edge of the Troodos mountains.

We have 2 private bedrooms available, both en-suite - Village Room with a double bed and Garden Room with two singles.

The space
Elaia is a restored and extended house in traditional Cyprus style, built around a courtyard: Lounge and kitchen/diner on one side, bedrooms on the other. It's tucked away just 100 metres from the village square. The lounge is a feature of the house with its traditional stone arch.

The ensuite bedrooms are upstairs on the balcony and offer views of the nearby Troodos foothills. You can eat and relax in the secluded courtyard and behind the property is a small garden of fruit trees. You're welcome to help yourself to anything in season!

Lythrodontas, Nicosia, Cyprus

Lythrodontas is an authentic, living Cyprus village, known for its olive groves. Many residents now work in Nicosia and come home in the evening, when the village comes to life. It's easily accessible from the highway network, 15 minutes' from the A1/A2 highway interchange at Perachorio, which is 15 minutes south of Nicosia. Away from the village, guests can enjoy walking in the surrounding countryside. With a car, it's easy to explore the Troodos mountain villages and coastal areas.

I’ve been visiting Cyprus since 1977 and married Thecla, who you may guess is from Lythrodontas, in 1979. We bought her grandparents house, which has a beautiful lounge which we restored and we added a kitchen and bedrooms in the same style. When in Cyprus I love to walk, cycle and explore old Nicosia; it’s gradually being restored and there are plenty of intriguing lanes to investigate.
