The cheerful Sunset Cottage, a spacious 2 level house, accommodates up to 18 guests. 3 cozy bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen on the upper floor for up to 8 guests. The lower level accommodates 10 more with 6 custom-made individual twin bed stalls, 2 brand-new bathrooms with large washroom, a spacious living space with 2 extra sleep sofas and a bunk bed.
A sliding door leads into to the garden with sweeping view of the hills,
BBQ area, lots of garden hang out spots, pets welcome! WOW!

The space
This remodeled house is located in a quite neighborhood of Mitchell, sitting on a rim overlooking downtown. The view is of impressive Mitchell Rock. Great Sunset watching on the Look Out spot in the back!

Upper level: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, living room
There is a full kitchen with first class cookware, spices&herbs, olive oil, and all equipment like microwave, coffee maker, electrical stove and oven, and dishwasher, The cheerful bedrooms have high quality mattresses and down blankets. Most of the art on the walls are original pieces from the owners father and other local artists. The living room features a flatscreen TV,
DVD player and a selection of great movies. Organic shampoo, conditioner, soap and luxury cotton towels are provided. We also provide free Wifi, AC, a charcoal smoke BBQ and a laundry room with a washer and a dryer.

Lower Level: The lower level is light and spacious with 6 individual handmade wood beds , 2 sofa beds, and a bunk bed. perfect for a special interest group or a large family gathering. There is a brand new large washroom and 2 individual shower/toilet stalls , a wash machine, large refrigerator and microwave. The living space features a flat screen TV and has a glas sliding door that leads right to the stunning Look Out spot with sweeping views of the rugged landscape and the town below. This is the best spot to watch the Sunsets.
The garden has many hang out places with plenty of out door furniture. and old trees for shade. There is a BBQ area with a smoker BBQ and a porch to enjoy the early morning sunrise.

The cottage is located in the small historic town of Mitchell and is only 12 minutes away from the famous Painted Hills. The Journey through Time scenic Byway ( Hwy 26) is passing by Mitchell. Smith Rock, Clarno , Sheep Rock, Blue Basin, the Ochoco Forestare all fantastic placed to visit and are all points of interests along the scenic byway.

My mother Barbara and I have created one of the most adorable places in Oregon - The Painted Hills Vacation - Cottages & Retreat! We're are having a wonderful time hosting travelers from around the world since 2008 in our 3 european style cottages close to the famous Painted Hills here in Eastern Oregon. I'm an herbalist with a bachelors of Science degree from the Bastyr University in Seattle. I'm also a cook and have had my own restaurant together with my 2 sisters in Seattle from 1990 till 200. The place was called Sisters and a popular Eatery in the famous Pike Place Market in the heart of Seattle.
My mother is a great master gardener and has created a beautiful oasis with the magic gardens surrounding the cottages. The serenity and beauty of the gardens are a special treat for all our guests. We both love to welcome travelers to this special area - a geological wonderland with no light or noise pollution where we are close to nature and the landscapes are breathtaking.
