During the 17th century Moffat began to grow from a small village into a popular spa town. The sulphurous waters of Moffat Spa were believed to have healing properties. Known by many as the gateway to Scotland, Moffat provides easy access to many places; cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders, The Ayrshire Coast and Burns Country and Galloway Forest…

The house is right on the doorstep of Well street where you can find a Deli, Bookshop, Charity shop, Antiques store, Launderette, Salon and various lovely Gift Shops which leads onto the High street with it’s Pubs Bars Restaurants & Takeaways, Theatre, The Famous Moffat Toffee Shop, a Zero waste wholefoods shop, the Community Shop, Outdoors shop, Hardware shop, Baker, Station Park, Pottery Studio, Garden centre, Church, Museum, Bushcraft School, an array of independently run Gift Shops and The Famous Moffat Ram statue.

Co-op supermarket is located 5 minutes walk down the road at the bottom of Moffat.

The Post office is located inside Benmar Service Station.
Gallow Hill is perfect for a short ramble.

A little bit further out of Moffat are Craigieburn Nursery and Gardens, Grey mares tail waterfall, Carrifran Wildwood and Devil’s beeftub.
