'De Weijbroek' is centrally located in the Salland region in the district of Pleegste. Amidst the neighborhood lies a large corner surrounded by a handful of farms. The villages of Heeten, Raalte, Broekland and Wesepe can be reached within minutes. In Heeten (4 km) is the nearest supermarket (Plus). In Heeten there is also a bakery (Bosgoed), butchers and brasserie and snack bar (Dert13n). There are also plenty of catering and shopping facilities in the nearby village of Raalte.
Nature
Prefer to exchange the meadows with cows for forest, river and heath?
National Park De Sallandse Heuvelrug (Haarle), the IJssel valley (Den Nul) and the Lemelerberg are all located in the immediate vicinity. This way you can completely unwind in the midst of nature. All nature reserves offer multiple, varied hiking, cycling, and MTB routes. Hanseatic towns
About 15 minutes away from the farmhouse is the historic city of Deventer, which alone houses more than 500 national monuments. In addition to organized city walks, the local tourist office can also provide a route to make an informative city walk at your own leisure.
Deventer also offers a cozy center with many restaurants in all segments and a wide range of shops. The Brink is the central square with many terraces and is considered one of the most beautiful in the country. Would you rather have a terrace by the water? On the IJssel is located on one of the city beaches pavilion 'Meadow'. Furthermore, you will find 'Valencia' in the hip Port Quarter and 'De Zwarte Silo' in an old grain silo restaurant. Just outside the city center is' Brewery DAVO 'with its own beer garden.
In addition to the many monuments, Deventer offers several museums (Geert Groote Huis, Eicas, Toy Museum, Museum De Waag), churches, a cinema and film house that are more than worth a visit.
Throughout the year, several annual events are organised, including the Deventer Boekenmarkt, Deventer op Stelten, the Dickens Festijn and the Deventer Stadsfestival.
In addition to Deventer, the Hanseatic cities of Zwolle, Zutphen and Hattem are also easy to reach, as are Apeldoorn and the Veluwe.
Halfway through Deventer is the Abbey of Sion. In this former monastery (the last fathers left a few years ago) there is now room for a silence center, retreats, workshops and a coffee shop (New Sion) . The monastery is an ideal starting point for a walk through the surrounding forests.
