Our 2 bedroom bach has just the right amount of space and offers the amenities required for a great stay.

This is a great sized section with outdoor living spaces and great entertainment (bbq, lockable safe for hunters, rabbits, fish, quiots, dart board, badminton and more).

Everyone welcome (pets, children, smokers) but please respect the property.

Upgrade this stay and rent a spa from Sublime Spa Rentals for $50 per 24hours (we organise).

The space
Coalgate Croft is approx 650sqm section with a 40sqm batch. Since arriving we have spent most of our spare time renovating, landscaping and building to create a beautiful space that can be enjoyed by all. There has been much progress with plenty more to go. Each stay gets better and better.

Enjoy the BBQ (BBQ-please clean after use) and chill on the deck. The deck area is partly covered with a sliding door that opens up to a great space to sunbathe, chill and read your book.

Around the other side, there is a swinging egg chair, dart board and ledge that can be used as a bar leaner. If you add a spa to your stay this will be set up on the stones partly undercover.

We have the opportunity to offer you an inflatable spa rental from Sublime Spa Rentals (you pay the extra, we organise) at any time of the year.

There is a heat pump to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the Summer.

There is a tv and DVD player for use. There is NO WIFI at this stage (waiting on the fibre to be connected).

The backyard is lovely, a great spot to enjoy in Summer. Have a picnic or play backyard games like badminton, quilts or darts. In winter I recommend the hot spa rental (although a hot spa and start gazing can be enjoyed all year round) and if you are lucky you may get some snow.

The backyard is also a great size for pets and we welcome furry friends that are ok around rabbits. Please pick up your animal poo and discard it in the bin or Vege garden. Drinking bowl is outside and a doggy towel is provided (for dirty paws). NO pets on the furniture please and be mindful not all guests bring pets and love them as we do. We enjoy allowing pets to stay but understandably sacrifice extra time to uphold a clean standard so there is a $10 fee for pets who stay to help us cover the costs and labour (included in booking).

We like to think this is a space everyone can enjoy so smoking is allowed but ONLY outside and butts to be discarded in the red bin.

Help yourself to some veges from the garden (if the seasons are right) and enjoy some fresh produce.

Milk, tea, coffee and sugar will be provided complimentary to you. Along with a coffee plunger, milk frother and jug.

All linen and bedding included.

Toilet paper, shower basics and kitchen necessities are also included in this stay for your convenience.

Where you’ll be

Coalgate, Canterbury, New Zealand

Little rural township with a local pub offering all day food, bar and small bottle store. Award winning honey from down the road and friendly locals.

There is a lovely walk down at the reserve a short 15minute walkway through native bush. This walk is about 30minutes long in a large circle and many locals walk their dogs here.

There is also a bmx track and court down at the reserve if your wanting more space or a fun place to take the kids. There is also a park down the road or Glentunnel park is even better.

We have a lovely hill walk over the bridge by the river offering views of Coalgate that are sure to please both in Winter and Summer. 15minute walk to get there and around 2/3 hour return trip offering both hill climbing and walking alongside the river.

There are also lovely walks along the Glentunnel township which has a sought after golf course and cafe with delicious food and views.

I would highly recommend Washpen falls which is a waterfall walk located 15minutes drive and 2/3 hour round trip through beautiful NZ native bush with stunning waterfalls. This is owned by a local family and requires a $10 donation per person (not recommended in winter).

Coalgate has hot air balloons flown locally which is the ultimate adventure activity whilst staying in the area or if your not keen on heights seeing them early morning flying above you is a cool sight on it's own.

A lot of time and effort has gone into renovating and landscaping this peaceful spot and I wanted to share it with travellers locally and from afar. Coalgate Croft offers a wonderful stay both in the Summer and in Winter.

With a main bedroom, small spare, living area, kitchen and small bathroom it's hardly roughing it.

There is both indoor and outdoor spaces to be enjoyed and more entertainment being added.

With plenty more projects happening at Coalgate Croft there are more benefits to be had.
