This is a charming finished basement located on our 5 acre hobby farm. We have chickens (including noisy roosters), a parade of ducks, 4 alpacas and 6 hilarious goats. Sometimes the chickens will poop on your front stoop. We are an active family of three - our daughter Piper is 5 years old and will be excited to show you all the animals. Because we are in such a rural location- there is no wifi available but we hope this helps you get into your relaxation vibe. Checkout our guidebook.

The space
Firepit and grill are both accessible to you. Entrance to Shenandoah National Park is 30 mins away. Preddy Creek hiking and mountain biking park is 5 mins away and we have 5 vineyards within 5 miles of us- including Barboursville Vineyard (you have to try the sparkling rosé)

This area of Burnley Station Road is home to many talented folks and artisans. The Orchid Station sells beautiful orchids our of their greenhouse on Saturdays and if you walk a little father you will see the historic Burnley train depot which now houses a local cabinetry business. That part of the neighborhood encompasses a commune that was established in the 1970s but only a few of the original members are left.

We want to share our animals and the farm we are so grateful to have with our guests. We have goats, alpacas, chickens and ducks at this oasis away from the city but close enough to Cville’s amenities. Swift Run entrance to Shenandoah is only a 30 minute drive from our doorstep. You or your kids are welcome to visit with our much loved and friendly animals while we do our chores in the morning or anytime. You can also relax by the firepit or just drink a cup of morning coffee in your cozy quarters before you go off and have an adventure at so many nearby places to see. Don’t forget your farm shoes.

During your stay

Either Stuart or Christina is usually home to let you borrow some soy sauce or give you a trail recommendation at Preddy Creek or simply have an unhurried conversation about the meaning of goats.
