I’m British born of African heritage and relocated to Barbados in 2020 with my partner Tim, who is of British/Jamaican heritage.

Tim and I were in senior management roles in the UK prior to our retirement.

Over the years we have stayed at various Airbnb accommodation, both in Barbados and St Lucia and have made some lifelong friends as a result.

We are so looking forward to our new adventure together, and of hosting visitors to Barbados and welcoming you to our beautiful cottage.

We both have adult children and several grandchildren who reside in London and Liverpool.

I’m a Liverpool FC supporter and Tim supports Chelsea FC ( poor guy!)

We have fulfilled our dream to spend our retirement between Barbados and Jamaica and it’s our aim to ensure you have the best possible stay here on the island.

The name “Sankofa” originates from West Africa and is symbolised by a mythical bird or stylised heart, the name is in honour of our proud African heritage.

We are both music lovers and enjoy sitting on our patio sipping a warm glass of red or a nice Bajan rum.

Tim is known to be a master on the Barbecue! He can also rustle up a mean Jamaican curry with rice and peas, complete with roasted breadfruit (plucked from our very own tree).

Sankofa is situated in a Barbadian neighbourhood and I am the Chair of the local residents association.

We regularly arrange gatherings and decorate our neighbourhood for Christmas, Independence Day and National Heroes Day, we are a close knit community and Tim and I are now adopted Barbadians!

Welcome to our Happy Place.
