Embrace genuine Texas charm and the remote beauty of a family friendly escape from the ordinary.

45 minutes from Kyle Field, The Ranch at Hills Creek is for restless hearts needing a break from 5G. 150 acres of hardwoods and sandy trails, and a 15 acre lake full of bass, crappie and catfish await families and weekend warriors who need to get back to basics.

5 br & 4.5 baths means everybody gets a piece of the wide open spaces.

The space
Not one of the five bedrooms in this classic, two story ranch home was thrown together as an afterthought. Yes, we’re guilty of having a a “Live, Laugh, Love” sign or two, but the charm and comfort of this home are feelings that will stay with you well after your departure.

Catch up on the important things over a glass of wine on the porch while the kids catch a mess of bluegill for supper.

Throw horseshoes with the boys down by the water, while you debate whether you’re ever really too old for a rope swing.

Watch the sunrise over a cup of coffee then kayak through the shallows of a 15-acre lake in a Texas summer that seems to last from April to October. Visiting in the fall? Light the fire pit and listen to the wood ducks whistle in.

We're an active harvest fishing establishment, so we encourage guests to put anything under 14 inches in cornmeal and hot oil and post photos of the ones Robert Earl Keen would sing about. A photo of a 5 lb. bass is still the original Texas flex.

No shoes, no shirt, no (cell phone) service- no problem.

(No need to worry, a landline phone is available for use if needed!)

Where you'll sleep

What this place offers

Lake view
Dedicated workspace
Free parking on premises
Air conditioning

Where you’ll be

Rockdale, Texas, United States

You'll be lucky to see another human unless you hit the trail for Kyle Field for gameday. Caldwell and Rockdale are short drives if you need to refill the Yeti.

There are the usual host of Texas critters, but nothing that should prevent you from relaxing while the kids explore during the day.
