Where you’ll be

Branston, England, United Kingdom

Branston is a popular village to the South-East of historic Lincoln.
The centre of Lincoln is approximately four miles and Lincoln County Hospital is also within easy reach.

The village has good amenities, including: a village pub, a small cafe, a Co-op, takeaways, a Doctor’s surgery, Simpson’s Day Spa, Red Carpet Ready ball gown store, hair salons, and a Village Hall with children’s play ground, skate park and tennis courts.

For the historians amongst you there is also the beautiful 18th century Branston Hall, newly named The Vedanta. The Vedanta is a grade two listed Elizabethan estate. It has recently been refurbished to host ‘well being’ retreats and weddings and is literally a stones throw from the cottage.

There are lots of lovely walks on the doorstep so don’t forget to bring your walking boots and see if you can find Branston’s 19th century water wheel.

With Lincoln within easy reach the city is a ‘must see’. Not only is it steeped in history with historical landmarks such as Lincoln Cathedral, the Castle and Steep Hill. It also has a bustling night life, hosting great entertainment venues like the Engine Shed and The New Theatre Royal. Lincoln is a popular tourist destination, catering for all ages.

(Please see the guidebook I’ve created below for places to visit and eateries in the surrounding area)

Additionally there are regular buses to Lincoln from the village. Please see the cottage manual for bus timetables and taxi numbers.
