The space
Location:
Enjoy a little piece of Vermont paradise! This cottage is located on the southern slope of Mount Ascutney. Sitting towards the end of a quiet dirt road, surrounded by woods, on one acre bordering the state park on two sides, it offers great peace and privacy, in a beautiful natural setting. But it is easy to access: only 5 minutes from the I-91 exit, and close (20 min. maximum) to grocery stores and everything else you need. From there you can discover what Vermont and New Hampshire have to offer. During all four seasons: hiking (including directly from the property), wildlife, scenic drives, natural and historical curiosities, cute little towns, breweries, cheese farms, and more.

Winter Fun:
In the winter, thanks to our central location you can easily access a diversity of first-class downhill skiing resorts with lots of trails and high speed chair lifts (27 minutes drive to Okemo Mountain, 34 to Mount Sunapee; 40 to Magic Mountain, 55 minutes to Killington and Bromley, 60 minutes to Stratton and Pats Peak). You can explore a different resort every day if you wish! There are also smaller resorts around. In proximity too, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, groomed or not, plus the snowmobiling VT corridor #5 and NH trail #395.

Spring & Summer Fun:
In late spring and summer, biking, horse riding, swimming or kayaking (lakes or Connecticut river), fishing, exploring covered bridges and waterfalls are at hand; or you can just sit on a lounge chair by the little pond.

The Home:
The house has  a charming dining room with a wood stove and an open modern kitchen, a contemporary living room with a cathedral ceiling; at the lower level, there are two bedrooms and a laundry room. Beds and sofas are new, many other pieces of furniture are antique. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make great meals; you can also grill on the deck, eat there or on the picnic table in the yard, and gather around the fire pit in the evening. There is a work space in the living room area with a comfortable desk, pens, and a small lamp.

This comfortable cottage is a perfect place to enjoy the beautiful Green Mountain State all year round. The house is professionally cleaned and prepared for 4 guests at all times, and can accommodate up to 6 with notice and the fees described further in the booking menu.

Guest access
Guests will have the entire home to themselves, with access to a nice fire pit with the first bundle of wood provided at no cost, an adorable pond with tons of wildlife to watch, a deck with a large table and 6 chairs to accommodate a great dinner cooked inside or on the grill, and plenty of free and easily accessible parking.

Hi! My name is Sarah and I’m a transplant to Vermont from Kentucky, originally born and raised in Massachusetts. My pronouns are she/her or they/them. I have two sweet special needs children, own and operate a small laundry delivery and cleaning business, and a property management business and hold two college degrees.

I’m passionate about providing 5 star hospitality, working hard, making people happy, enjoying free time on a canoe or in a kayak, camping, hiking, hunting, Dunkin’ coffee and kicking back with the kiddos laughing along to a good movie after a long day.

I love Vermont for all the beauty it’s nature provides, the unique and zesty community of Brattleboro, the forward thinking movement of our state, and the beautiful autumns it gives us each year!
