Cuan Cave is set on the shores of Cuan Sound, it is the ideal location for kayakers, walkers and those wishing to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Carsaig Cave, along with Alexandra Lifeboat, Mary Heather Lifeboat, Cuan Bunkroom and small campground are part of the facilities we provide here on Argyll's rugged coastline.

The space
Cuan cave gives you the unique opportunity to stay in a cave, formed into the shoreline on the edge of clan sound, with all facilities to hand. Formed into the curved shapes are a double berth sleeping area and a double bunk that can be changed to a settee with table in the entrance/ activity area, all with views down the bay to the sea, or the stars at night through the roof lights.
We do not provide any linen, and due to the current circumstances, we encourage guests to provide their own. However, if requested we can provide a pillow, sleeping bag with liner and a towel for £7/person for 2 nights.
The galley kitchen has breakfast bar with stools, plenty storage space with cooking and eating utensils. There is a fridge, double hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and George Foreman grill, (or equivalent ). Set in the back of the cave, accessed through a sliding door is a quadrant corner shower, wash basin and W.C with the luxury of underfloor heating.
There is also an outdoor seating area with fire pit and wood available.

Cuan Sound is a tidal stretch between the Islands of Luing and Seil which connects two very unique island communities, both of which are incredibly vibrant and welcoming, and offer a range of different activities. The Island of Luing - the home of the famous Luing cattle breed and slate quarries "which roofed the world"- is only a short ferry ride away and hosts the Atlantic islands Centre, a cafe and museum full of stories and history of the surrounding islands! ( opening may be restricted due to current C19 restrictions)This is a perfect base to take a boat trip, cycle ride around the Island of Luing, or walk round the shoreline, if you are not a kayaker yourself! There are also a variety of lovely pubs and cafes in the area if you fancy a more relaxed excursion.
