WOW! GET AWAY & SAFE Large Villa with one queen bedroom and sofa bed in the living room/Amazing Architectural Sustainable 6000 tree Avocado Farm on 150 acres - 5km from Antigua (up the hill). Off-Grid. Best Wifi in Antigua (point to point). The architecture is a Mayan/Spanish inspired experience like no other. Many private hiking trails. A gourmet Guatemalan breakfast is included and daily rides to Antigua and the nearby village.

The space
Because Covid has changed Antigua - perhaps decide to live in over 100's of acres of fresh air in the mountains above, where you stay healthy and live in luxury. Welcome to the Villa "Jaguar 3"; a self-contained bungalow / villa with one main 2-person bedroom and then a fold-out sofa for another two situated within the private property of Campanario de Panchoy; a quiet retreat in the mountains above Antigua Guatemala. El Campanario is a once in a lifetime experience where one can feel like royalty amidst the splendor of Mayan Highlands offering panoramic views of the three 13,000 feet volcanoes; "Agua, Fuego, and Acatanango". This ecological off-grid retreat is situated within a working 150-acre avocado farm with many internal and external walkable trails and paths.
The architecture of Villas Campanario is pretty amazing as you will soon find out! Once you understand and see all the details that have been compiled before you, you will see that Architect Craig Henritzy, has put together a beautiful symphony of ideas inspired by a fusion of Mayan architectural concepts mixed with Spanish Colonial Antigua specific architecture. Intrigued? Indeed, there are many stories to tell including Mayan painted pottery shards, faces, and obsidian found on the farm that once discovered, were integrated into the surroundings, where Mayan mythology comes to life within a setting that can only be described as a Gabriel Garcia Marquez "magic realism" experience. Once realized your experience will be unforgettable.
As you pass through impressive main entrance there is a land of gardens and views; a beauty filled compound that consists of one main house and four villas that compose the upper retreat area. You may rent one, some or all of the villas on the property. We have several special and wonderful people that will tend to your needs during your stay. You will be introduced to the property, there is a lot to see and know about. A gourmet Guatemalan breakfast is included. Please let us know if you have other needs around food. Each unit has a high-end kitchen and there are food delivery options as well from Antigua. Dinners are not included however we can arrange them in advance.
There is a lot to learn about this compound, not just in its architecture, and the how’s and why’s in its construction but the historical and sustainable aspects. Yes, we are 100% self-sustaining. We are off-the-grid as we have a complex micro-grid with a large solar panel array, inverters, charge controllers, batteries and back-up generators that cover a lower service area and the upper area where you will be staying. We capture, filter and harvest sweet potable rainwater with 14 cisterns and a 300,000-gallon reservoir. We have an active greenhouse that you can visit. Our high speed WiFi is from a point to point system in Antigua; and is mostly dependable. We have a carpentry shop and concrete countertop (Cheng Design) shop in addition to a solar wood drying system. These last three items are located in the lower service area below the area you will be. If you are interested, you can visit the state-of-the-art microbial inoculant laboratory where we create beneficial bacteria’s and funguses that are naturally found in the soil that have positive properties for all type of agriculture. Be prepared to discover many intimate spaces day after day.

We have 3 other villas and one main house that may be available that share the same property.
You can see videos about the properties by searching Villas Campanario on YouTube.
