Come take a break from the rush in this cozy authentic farmhouse built in the early 1900s, this home is the main hub of a century family owned farmstead. Out of town, but close to everything; great for families, couples and singles.

The space
This is an authentic all American farmhouse where farmers who raised premium bred cattle and hogs lived for many many years! This IS NOT a Chip & Joanna Gaines, HGTV or Country Living version of a farmhouse.
This is the real deal!

We've worked very hard to make this a lovely place to stay, here is what you can expect....

This house has been cosmetically updated, not "renovated, gutted or re-done" which means it might seem a bit old, a bit well worn, a bit quirky but full of charm, some original artwork and history!

High speed fiber optic broadband Wi-Fi (so grateful, it was still dial up less than 10 years ago)!!

The house is cooled in the summer with window AC units.
Each bedroom has its own AC unit and there's a centrally located window AC unit in the dining room. The house is heated by propane with additional electric units in each bedroom for added comfort.
North Iowa summers are typically cool in the evening, open the windows and turn on the fans and breath that fresh country air!
There are space heaters and fans available for use as needed.

The shower tub is an insert that sits over the existing cast iron tub. These inserts have flexible tub floors to accommodate different tub shapes, so you'll notice a little squish, this is normal and nothing to be concerned about. We've added a new shower head, hand rails and anti-slip strips.

The house has settled a few times in the past 100 years, results in uneven floors and squeaky floor boards.

Imperfect floor plan, a families needs were different 100 years ago and the house has been adjusted and added onto to accommodate different needs through the years.

Common North Iowa Farm pest- orange lady bugs, boxelder bugs and flies, the house has been sprayed and treated but you may still encounter them in the house.l

Located on the most popular country road in the county referred to as "the loop." People enjoy walking, biking, running and driving the loop because of the paved road, easy access from town, beautiful country scenery and bridge crossing.
Private drive for the Country Club and Golf Course runs behind the house and Ochee Yahola Park with wooded trails is located just off the loop past Burgett's Bridge, about a 1.5mi from the farm.

Northwood is home to the N-K Vikings PreK-12 School district. Northwood is the county seat of Worth County with a population of approximately 2,000 people. You'll find many places to eat and shop; favorites include the Worth Brewing Company, Tequilas Mexican Restaurant, Signatures Supper Club and The Strike Zone bowling alley. The Northwood Country Club and Golf Course borders the farm, you'll see the gravel drive runs behind the house.
Diamond Jo Casino is located on I35 just 7 miles west of town.

You can reach us by airbnb message thread, call, sms text. There is a black binder on the desk in the kitchen with contact information! This is the farm hub, center of the action, so we will be around periodically and someone may or may not be around to greet you.

We take disrespectful, dishonest and destructive behavior toward our property very seriously and will not hesitate to report these actions to Airbnb or local authorities.
