Where you’ll be

Adams Run, South Carolina, United States

We definitely recommend going downtown, and if you can, the horse drawn carriage rides are neat. They take you back along the old cobblestone roads sometimes and give you all of the history about Charleston and it’s southern charm. Market street is great to people watch and there are several local markets. King street is great for shopping!

Kid friendly
We whole heartedly recommend Bee City Zoo (1066 Holly Ridge Ln, Cottageville, SC 29435) where you can feed lemurs, birds, zebras, monkeys and more!

Beaches/other places to visit
Edisto Beach is closest, but Kiawah has a very pretty beach and not far. Folly beach is the tourist-y more college-type town with lots of souvenir and beach shops.

Most people like to visit the angel oak tree ( 3688 Angel Oak Rd, Johns Island, SC, 29455) rainbow row or the pineapple fountain down town.

There are a few old abandoned plantations about 5 minutes or so from us also that look like something out of a movie and we can point you to those, too, if you’re interested.

Food
Best place for fish is Flowers (to cook and sometimes they have a little stand open where they cook it; it doesn’t look like much but it is the by far the freshest shack we’ve found!):
1914 SC-174
Edisto Island, SC 29438

Pressleys at the Marina is known for dolphin sightings year-round (3702 Dock Site Rd, Edisto Island, SC, 29438)

The Crab House also has a lookout over the water (145 Wappoo Creek Dr, Charleston, SC, 29412)

I work full time at the Medical University of South Carolina and have a beautiful house, just close enough, but removed enough, too, to enjoy Charleston.
