A secluded retreat nestled between mountains and sea, this revitalised 19th century home offers an escape into west Waterford, one of Ireland's best kept secrets. The house is bright, spacious and well finished with ample garden space, comfortably holding six people but equally suitable for a couple.
The Waterford Greenway is 900m away, Stradbally village 3km and the market town of Dungarvan 12km. We have a bike shed for adventurers (bikes can also be rented nearby).

The space
The house has been renovated to an open plan space to maximise sunlight and views of the Comeragh mountains while carefully retaining its original character with high ceilings, wood-burning stove and sash windows.
Two utility out-houses allow for a clean, uncluttered house that still provides all of your typical facilities.
The garden is enclosed with trees and captures a beautiful evening sun over the mountains. There's a barbeque and herb garden and we encourage you to use both :)

Where you’ll be

Waterford, County Waterford, Ireland

The house is located on a quiet country road that leads down to the impressive Durrow bridge and river Tay, over which the Waterford Greenway passes. Stradbally village and cove is within walking distance and the entire Copper Coast - a real hidden gem - can be easily explored by bicycle. Our favourite trip is a cycle to Clonea Strand followed by a swim and a 99!
A little further along you'll find Dungarvan town which had a major role in Waterford being recognised as Ireland's top foodie destination in 2019.
This is a really special pocket of the country that we're excited to share with you.

My full time job is as a seaweed food producer and forager but renovating this house has become my new favourite pastime. The house has been in my family since the early 1800s and I spent my summers growing up here with my grandmother, so it means a lot to see new life in it again. With the help of my family we put a lot of thought and care into reviving the house and I hope that comes across to our guests.
