The Milkman's Shack is a self contained studio nestled in the Meander Valley region. It's located close to the picturesque town of Deloraine (10min drive). Great half way point between Launceston (35min) and Devonport (30min).

The Milkmans is a classic country getaway and a place where you can totally unwind and relax.

We are located 10min out of town (Deloraine). The shack is surrounded by beautiful green farmland, a true country escape. Here you can really enjoy the peace and quiet country life offers.

Our location is central to Devonport (30min drive) and Launceston (35min drive). There is so much to explore from beautiful walks to delicious food. There is something for everyone!

The picturesque town of Deloraine is only a 10min drive. Here you will find all your local amenities; grocery store, fuel stations, post office, news agency, pharmacy, Dr surgery, cafes and gift shops. Local stores usually close between 4-5:30pm (week days) with exception of Woolworths supermarket closing at 10pm.

For the foodies we have the Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm (5min drive) open from 7-5pm. Whether your after a hearty breakfast, delicious lunch, wicked desserts or a raspberry ice cream to take away, there is something for everyone.

Ashgrove Cheese Factory is also a stones throw (5min drive) with lots of award winning cheeses to taste.

Anvers Chocolate Factory is just under half an hour away. They have delicious taste testing, yummy hot chocolates and cafe open from 7-6pm daily.

The iconic Cradle Mountain is 1hr15min drive, which which makes a lovely day trip. You can stop to stretch your legs at Sheffield and take in the magnificent views of Mount Roland.

Closer to home we have
Alums Cliffs (20min drive) a great short walk (40min return). The walk itself meanders through the bush to a spectacular viewing platform looking down into the Alums Cliff Gorge.

Liffey falls (35min drive) is a must see. A 45min return walk through lush rainforest to one of Tasmania's best waterfalls.

Mole Creek Caves (35min drive)

Devils Gullet (1hr drive) is magical- a short walk to spectacular clifftop views.
