Welcome to Villa Saús, a typical Asturian house built by my great-great-grandfather in the late 18th century. Completely independent, it has a private outdoor patio with stunning views of the forest but from where you can also see in the distance the Sierra del Aramo even the top of the Peña Mayor, an extension of the Picos de Europa.
The nearest supermarket is a 5-minute drive (El Economato, Carbayin Alto) and cities like Oviedo or Gijón are a 30-minute drive.

The space
The house has two floors, on the first floor you will find a spacious hall, a kitchen/living room, a double bedroom and a full bathroom. Upstairs you will reach the second floor where you can enjoy a reading space and access the fantastic corridor from which you will enjoy great views and where there is a toilet. The house has a large outdoor patio as well as a space adjacent to the house. Undoubtedly its location, where the only sounds you hear will be birds or cows, and the private outdoor space is a luxury to enjoy the charm and peace offered by this accommodation.

Where you’ll be

Asturias, Principado de Asturias, Spain

“Casa Villa Saús” is located in the Asturian council of Serro (center of Asturias) which makes it very easy to move quickly anywhere in the region. It was a pioneering territory in the deepening of the first mining wells in Asturias and, today, still look like metal giants the castles of historical farms such as Pumarabule, Mosquitera, Candín or Solvay, among others, that today make up the Route of Mining Serum. But this council - with capital in Pula de Serro – has not only the Black of the Coal as its flag. Its green and fruitful mountains and valleys make it a great ecological pantry of cattle, milk, garden products, and pomaradas, which make Serro the third municipality in Asturias with the most sores.

The illustrious Jovellanos, with family roots in Valdesoto, was inspired by Serro to begin his mining journey; thousands of pilgrims take their last steps in Serro before prostrating before San Salvador in Oviedo and dozens of medieval manors gathered in this territory, due to the strategic location and importance it had for the Crown, and even today its coats of arms and palaces remain, the same as the traveller spotted on the Rural Palaces Route...

On top of that, there is a traditional, festive, friendly and communicative Serum that you enjoy showing your holidays to your own and foreigners: the evening-night Comadres, the market for Pint Eggs, the Romería del Carmín or Les Carroces de Valdesoto..., or that vibrates every Tuesday with its weekly market and its cattle market, which continues to be a pioneer and leader in Spain.
