Field view Metslawier is a beautiful and characteristic building in Metslawier in the head of Friesland. Veldzicht is an old farm dating back to the beginning of the 18th century, in which an inn was also located in the past. Nowadays it houses a café, lunch room and on the back, separated from the rest of the catering industry, two B&B rooms.

In Metslawier you are located in the quiet countryside of Friesland and you will be welcomed with Frisian hospitality and sobriety.

The space
The B&B rooms of Veldzicht Metslawier are spacious with an area of about 50 m2 and are intended for up to 4 people. It is possible to stay one night, but the rooms are also great for a longer stay.

Metslawier is a small village with about 900 inhabitants and is located in the wonderfully quiet countryside of Friesland. Metslawier is an old Frisian terpdorp. On top of the terp stands the historic village church of Metslawier. Today, all kinds of exhibitions and performances are organized in this church throughout the year.

Metslawier is 6 km away from the picturesque eleven towns of Dokkum and about 10 km away from Lauwersoog and thus also the Lauwersmeer National Park and the Wadden Sea. Perhaps wading is for you? Or sail a day in a lifeboat, or on a seal trip? This, and much more, can all be experienced on Lauwersoog! From Lauwersoog, the boat also departs for Schiermonnikoog, so a wonderful day on Schiermonnikoog is also possible. But Holwerd is also not far from Metslawier (13 km), which also makes a day to Ameland one of the possibilities.

Wij zijn Wessel & Hennie Meinsma. Al bijna tien jaar exploiteren wij, samen met de ouders van Hennie: Jaap en Annie Meinsma, Veldzicht Metslawier als horecazaak met een lunchroom. Sinds mei 2020 exploiteren wij ook een splinternieuwe Bed & Breakfast bij ons horecazaak. Hennie en Annie richten zich hierbij voornamelijk op de B&B en op de Lunchroom van Veldzicht. Wessel en Jaap richten zich, naast hun dagelijkse beroep, op het horecagedeelte. Wij vinden het al jaren leuk om in de horeca te werken en het ons klanten naar de zin te maken. Dit komt vooral doordat wij van mensen houden en wij het leuk vinden om met onze gasten, komende uit alle windstreken, te praten en om te gaan.
