This is a traditional Japanese house that was completely renovated to be a vacation home for Tokyo businessmen. Surrounded by trees and the quiet location make it an ideal place to unplug, unwind, read a book, do yoga, work in the garden or laze in the hammock. Just 15 minutes by car to Shimanto City shopping and restaurants and an easy drive to Shimanto River or the beach, this house is a great base for exploring the area and an oasis of relaxation after a busy day of sightseeing.

The space
This is a private, two-room house situated right next to the main house where we live. High ceilings, wood floors, and big windows facing the green mountains of Kochi create a relaxing environment to take a break from the busyness of life.

Guest access
This is a private house for guest access only. Guests can also sit outside on the small deck of the main house, walk in the garden and use the outdoor cooking area. Washing machine and dryer are in the main house so ask us if you would like to do laundry.

We are very happy to chat with everyone -- just right now from the recommended social distance and preferably outside.

The kitchen space is actually a kitchenette. There is a microwave, kettle and small refrigerator. The space is for very simple food preparation only, no cooking. It could be possible (for guests staying 3 nights or longer) to use our kitchen so ask us when you arrive.

Regarding phone service in the house: AU has good signal. Docomo is a spotty connection. Softbank almost nothing.

The house is surrounded by hills and trees which means there are lots of insects, snakes, and other creepy crawlies. When outside please walk carefully and respect the nature. In the house you might encounter a giant brown spider. She is very friendly and harmless.
